## Pricing

from $0.80 / 1,000 reddit results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Reddit Posts & Comments

Collect Reddit posts and comments. **NSFW subreddits and posts are not supported.**

For large volumes, contact us in advance so we can scale capacity to meet your needs.

### Input

Each run costs **$0.005 to start**, plus the listed price per result. Platform usage is included. Minimum run budget: **$0.01**; this is a spending limit, not a minimum charge. Startup is charged even if no results are found.

1. Add search phrases, subreddit names or Reddit URLs, one per line.
2. Enable **Batch mode** to combine all input lists.
3. Set **Maximum posts per input** and optionally enable **Include comments**.
4. Choose translation or insights if needed, then click **Start**.

```json
{
  "batchMode": true,
  "queries": ["electric cars", "battery life"],
  "subreddits": ["technology", "electricvehicles"],
  "maxPosts": 10,
  "scrapeComments": true,
  "maxComments": 20
}
```

**Input types**

| Input | Type | Use |
|---|---|---|
| `queries` | List of text | Search phrases across Reddit. |
| `subreddits` | List of text | Community names, such as `technology` or `r/Python`. |
| `urls` | List of URLs | Post, comment, subreddit, search or public user links. |
| `subredditKeywords` | List of text | Search each phrase inside every named subreddit. Empty means feeds. |
| `batchMode` | On/off | Combine all lists. When off, URLs replace global searches. |
| `maxPosts`, `maxComments` | Integers | Limits per input and per post. |
| `scrapeComments` | On/off | Include comments and replies. |
| `translateToEnglish`, `analyzeText` | On/off | Optional English translation and Text Insights. |

Each source list accepts up to 100 entries. Sorts, dates and extra insights are available in the form. Set explicit limits in API requests; omitted post/comment limits default to 50,000.

### Output

- `post` and `comment` records with text, author, URL, dates, scores and thread references.
- **Input source** (`query`) identifies where each record came from. Duplicates appear once.
- Translation and insights appear inside their post/comment. Short or unsupported text may be skipped.
- Removed records keep available fields. `RUN-SUMMARY` reports counts and incomplete results.

Results appear during the run. Use **Posts and comments** to browse, **Complete records** for details, or **Export > JSON** for the full dataset.

Runs stop when the spending or processing limit is reached. Saved results remain available; `RUN-SUMMARY` explains incomplete runs.

**Example records**

Fictional posts, users and links; translation and insights shown were generated for these sample texts. Each example is a complete record with translation, Text Insights and business insights selected; other selections change the optional fields. `null` means unavailable.

# Actor input Schema

## `batchMode` (type: `boolean`):

Collect all search phrases, subreddits and URLs together. Off: URLs replace global search phrases. Each list accepts up to 100 entries.

## `queries` (type: `array`):

Add one phrase per line. Enable Batch mode to collect these searches alongside Reddit URLs.

## `subreddits` (type: `array`):

Add community names, one per line, for example technology or r/Python. Leave subreddit keywords empty for feeds, or add keywords below to search each listed community.

## `urls` (type: `array`):

Add post, comment, subreddit, search or public user URLs, one per line. Enable Include comments to collect threads. Comment links collect their owning post and thread. Enable Batch mode to combine URLs with search phrases.

## `maxPosts` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many accepted posts for each search phrase, subreddit feed or URL. Duplicate posts appear only once. The total can be larger when you provide several inputs.

## `scrapeComments` (type: `boolean`):

Collect comments alongside posts. Comments are saved as separate rows with links to their post and parent comment. Turn off for posts only.

## `maxComments` (type: `integer`):

Used only when Include comments is enabled. Counts comments that pass your comment date filters. Fewer comments may be available than requested.

## `subredditKeywords` (type: `array`):

Optional phrases, one per line. Each phrase is searched in every named subreddit. Leave empty for community feeds. These phrases do not change the Reddit URLs list.

## `subredditName` (type: `string`):

Add one more community alongside the Subreddits list. The same subreddit keywords and filters apply.

## `subredditSort` (type: `string`):

Order for named subreddits and their keyword searches. Best match uses Hot for a feed. Explicit ordering in a Reddit URL takes precedence unless Newest first for date filters is enabled.

## `subredditTimeframe` (type: `string`):

Keep subreddit posts within this rolling time window. Applies to named subreddits and subreddit URLs without their own time window. Custom post dates below apply as well.

## `sort` (type: `string`):

Order for Search phrases. Search URLs use the sort in their URL, or Best match when none is provided. Newest first for date filters can override this setting.

## `timeframe` (type: `string`):

Keep global search results within this rolling time window. Search URLs use the time window in their URL, or All time when none is provided. Custom post dates below apply as well.

## `dateFrom` (type: `string`):

Include posts created on or after this date, in UTC. Leave empty for no lower date limit. The JSON input also accepts an ISO timestamp.

## `dateTo` (type: `string`):

Include posts through the end of this UTC date. Leave empty for no upper date limit. The JSON input also accepts an ISO timestamp.

## `commentDateFrom` (type: `string`):

Include comments created on or after this UTC date. Used only when Include comments is enabled. Leave empty for no lower date limit.

## `commentDateTo` (type: `string`):

Include comments through the end of this UTC date. Used only when Include comments is enabled. Leave empty for no upper date limit.

## `forceSortNewForTimeFilteredRuns` (type: `boolean`):

Use Newest order when a post date or post age filter is set. This helps scan recent posts. Explore more results can still add other search orders.

## `strictSearch` (type: `boolean`):

Send search terms to Reddit as quoted terms joined with AND. Applies to keyword searches; leave off for normal Reddit search behavior.

## `strictTokenFilter` (type: `boolean`):

Keep posts only when every search term occurs as a whole token in the title, body or URL. This can return fewer results than Reddit search shows.

## `maximize_coverage` (type: `boolean`):

Try additional search orders such as Newest, Top and Most comments, then remove duplicates. Takes longer and does not guarantee complete historical coverage. Applies to keyword searches and search URLs.

## `sentiment_analysis` (type: `boolean`):

Add positive, negative, neutral or mixed sentiment and scores. These are estimates.

## `detectLanguage` (type: `boolean`):

Add the language of the original title and text. Automatically included with English translation or Text Insights. Very short, emoji-only and empty records bypass enrichment and have empty extra fields.

## `translateToEnglish` (type: `boolean`):

Translate eligible non-English titles and text to English. Original fields are preserved. English text needs no translation. See translation.status and complete for coverage; unsupported languages are explicit.

## `analyzeText` (type: `boolean`):

Add sentiment, all 28 emotion scores, topic, entities, intent, ranked keywords and embeddings. Enable English translation for non-English records. Very short records are skipped. Scores are estimates, not calibrated probabilities of correctness.

## `content_analysis` (type: `boolean`):

Add topic categories where available. Unmatched content stays uncategorized.

## `detectBrands` (type: `boolean`):

Identify brands and products with supporting text. Works independently of Text Insights. Enable translation for non-English text.

## `brandNames` (type: `array`):

Brand or product names to match exactly, one per line. Used with Detect brands and products. Matches are distinguished from AI estimates.

## `detectBuyingIntent` (type: `boolean`):

Find buying, comparison, switching and cancellation signals with supporting text. Uncertain results are left empty.

## `analyzeFeatureSentiment` (type: `boolean`):

Find opinions about individual features, such as positive camera feedback and negative battery feedback. Includes supporting text.

## `extractCustomerProblems` (type: `boolean`):

Find product complaints and feature requests with supporting text. These are AI estimates.

## `trackTrends` (type: `boolean`):

Compare unique collected records from the last 7 days with the previous 7 days. Uses creation dates and your account history. Counts describe your collected sample, not all Reddit.

## `trendKeywords` (type: `array`):

Required when Track keyword trends is enabled. Up to 20 literal words or phrases, one per line. Searches original text and complete English translations.

## `trendKey` (type: `string`):

Use the same name across runs to combine their trend history. The default keeps different source selections separate. Counts are snapshots when each record is delivered.

## `commentSort` (type: `string`):

Choose how Reddit orders each thread while comments are collected. Used only when Include comments is enabled.

## `maxPages` (type: `integer`):

Limit pages fetched for each feed or search branch. Higher values may find more posts but take longer. The post limit still applies.

## `maxCommentRounds` (type: `integer`):

Limit additional comment collection rounds per post. Set to 0 to use only the initial results. Reaching this limit may leave a thread incomplete.

## `maxRunSeconds` (type: `integer`):

Stop server collection after this many seconds. Results already saved remain available. A time limit can produce a partial run; check the run summary.

## `mcpConnectors` (type: `array`):

Optional connector IDs supplied by the Actor owner. Selecting an ID sends that connector a run summary with counts and storage links. Full Reddit records are not sent. Leave empty for normal scraping.
