## Pricing

from $6.00 / 1,000 parts

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## RockAuto Scraper

> **Disclaimer:** Unofficial tool — not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by RockAuto, LLC or its affiliates. Data is read from publicly accessible catalog pages only. No login. Scrape **RockAuto catalog parts** by a catalog URL or by make, year, model, and part category. Each row is one part: brand, part number, price, core charge, total, fitment note, and the info link. Turn on monitor mode and an Apify Schedule to save only new parts and price, core, or availability changes.

**Best for:** parts-counter price checks, a scheduled watch on one category, and a catalog export of brand, part number, and core charge.

> **Auto parts suite** — US catalog price here, then another US aftermarket price, a EUR catalog price, a used yard price, and the donor car.

### When to use this Actor

- **Price a repair** — Open brake pads, a filter, or another category for one vehicle and export brand, part number, price, and core.
- **Start from a catalog link** — Paste the category URL. The run reads that listing page.
- **Watch a price** — Schedule the same input. The first run stores a baseline. Later runs return only new parts and changes in price, core, or the availability note.
- **Compare catalogs** — After this run, check another US aftermarket price with [CarParts.com Scraper](https://apify.com/crawloop/carparts-com-scraper) and a French EUR price with [Oscaro Scraper](https://apify.com/crawloop/oscaro-scraper). For a used yard price, run [PartsHotlines Scraper](https://apify.com/crawloop/partshotlines-scraper), [LKQ Online Scraper](https://apify.com/crawloop/lkqonline-scraper), or [Car-Part Scraper](https://apify.com/crawloop/car-part-scraper). To find the donor car, run [Row52 Scraper](https://apify.com/crawloop/row52-scraper) or [Pick-n-Pull Scraper](https://apify.com/crawloop/picknpull-scraper).

This Actor reads public catalog pages. It does not log in, place orders, or open account pages. It does not walk every category of a vehicle in one run.

### Data pipeline

```
Input                         Flow                         Output
─────────────────────        ─────────────────────        ──────────────────────────
catalog URL              ──► listing HTML             ──► brand, part number, price
make / year / model      ──► matching part type       ──► core, fitment, info link
monitorMode + Schedule   ──► named key-value store   ──► new, price, or core change
```

### Key features

- **Catalog URL or vehicle** — Paste a listing URL, or pass make, year, model, and a part category such as brake pad.
- **One part type at a time** — The walk opens the matching category. `maxPartTypes` caps how many category pages a broader name can open.
- **Price and core** — Selling price, core charge, and total, in the currency the catalog prints for that request.
- **Fitment note** — The listing note, such as front or rear and the trim, plus a closeout or remaining-stock label when the page shows one.
- **Monitor** — Baseline on the first run. Later runs charge only new parts, price drops, price rises, and core or availability changes.

### Input

| Field | Required | Default | Description |
| :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- |
| `startUrls` | One of URL or vehicle | Camry brake-pad URL | Catalog URL. A listing page is scraped. A model or category page is walked. |
| `make`, `year`, `model` | With `partCategory`, if there is no URL | — | Vehicle. Example: Toyota, 2020, Camry. |
| `partCategory` | For a vehicle search | — | Part name, such as `brake pad`. Exact label wins. |
| `engine` | No | first engine | Optional engine label, such as `2.5L L4`. |
| `includeAllEngines` | No | `false` | Open every engine. Off uses the first engine, or `engine` when set. |
| `maxItems` | No | `50` | Parts to save. In monitor mode this caps alerts, not the scan. |
| `maxPartTypes` | No | `3` | Category pages to open. |
| `monitorMode` | No | `false` | Save only changes after the baseline. |
| `monitorStoreName` | No | `rockauto-monitor` | Named store for one watch. |
| `resetMonitorState` | No | `false` | Clear the baseline before this run. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | No | off | Turn on only if a run is stopped by a captcha. |

### Use cases

- A shop checks the current aftermarket price for Camry brake pads before quoting a job.
- A reseller schedules one category and reads only the rows whose price dropped.
- A catalog team exports brand, part number, core charge, and fitment for a single part type.
- A buyer compares the new-part price from this Actor with used recycler prices from the Car-Part Scraper.

### FAQ

**Does the first monitor run return parts?**\
Yes. The first run with an empty monitor store returns parts up to `maxItems` and stores every part scanned on the opened pages. The next run returns only changes.

**What does a zero-row monitor run mean?**\
The catalog page still loaded. No scanned part was new, and none of the stored prices, core charges, or availability notes changed.

**Why is the currency sometimes EUR?**\
The price and currency are whatever the catalog prints for that request. A run from another region can show a different currency. Compare prices inside one monitor store only when the runs use the same region.

**Do I need a proxy?**\
No. Leave the proxy off. If a run fails because the catalog returned a captcha, turn a proxy on and run again.

**Can I scrape a whole vehicle?**\
Pass a part category, or paste the category URL. `maxPartTypes` limits how many category pages one run opens.

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

RockAuto catalog URLs. A page that already lists parts is scraped as-is. A make, year, model, or category page is walked until a part list. Use a part category so a whole vehicle is not opened.

## `make` (type: `string`):

Vehicle make, for example Toyota. Used when Catalog URLs is empty. Also requires year, model, and a part category.

## `year` (type: `string`):

Model year, for example 2020. Used with make, model, and a part category when Catalog URLs is empty.

## `model` (type: `string`):

Vehicle model, for example Camry. Used with make, year, and a part category when Catalog URLs is empty.

## `engine` (type: `string`):

Optional engine label, for example 2.5L L4. When empty, the first engine on the model page is used.

## `partCategory` (type: `string`):

Part name to open, for example brake pad. Required for a make / year / model search. Also filters a category page: an exact name wins, otherwise the label that contains this text.

## `includeAllEngines` (type: `boolean`):

Open every engine for the model. Off uses the first engine, or the Engine field when that is set.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum parts to save. In monitor mode this caps alerts. The run still scans every part on the opened listing pages.

## `maxPartTypes` (type: `integer`):

How many part-type pages to open in one run. One page is one category, such as brake pads for one engine. A direct listing URL counts as one page.

## `monitorMode` (type: `boolean`):

The first run saves a baseline and returns parts up to Max saved parts. Later runs with the same monitor store save and charge only new parts, price changes, and core or availability changes. Pair with an Apify Schedule.

## `monitorStoreName` (type: `string`):

Named key-value store for prices already seen. Use one name per watch so schedules do not overwrite each other.

## `resetMonitorState` (type: `boolean`):

Clear the saved baseline before this run. The run then saves a new baseline.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Off by default. The catalog answers a normal request without a proxy. Turn a proxy on only if a run is blocked by a captcha.
