## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Brand Facts Checker & Organization Schema Generator (AEO)

**Find the brand facts your own website contradicts, then get Organization JSON-LD and a citable brand-facts page that AI Overviews, AI Mode and ChatGPT can quote.**

Google's Search Console **Generative AI performance report** (worldwide since 31 Aug 2026) shows AI Overviews and AI Mode often cite a brand's **About page** more than its homepage. When your pages disagree ("since 2018" vs "launched in 2019", "22,000 customers" vs "6,800+ subscribers"), AI answers pick one at random or hedge. This Actor finds those conflicts across your site in about 10 seconds per site.

### What it does

For each website it crawls the homepage plus up to 24 key pages (about, company, contact, pricing, team, press, FAQ, imprint), honours robots.txt, and returns:

- **AI-info readiness score (0-100) and grade** from 10 checks: Organization JSON-LD, name/url/logo, sameAs profiles, a reachable About page, visible contact, founding year, a one-sentence definition, no contradictions, About meta description and indexability
- **Contradictions with the exact pages**: brand name variants, founding year, years of experience, customer/user/subscriber counts (plan limits like "up to 10 sites" are ignored), schema vs page phone/email, a linked About/Contact page returning 404/5xx, placeholder sameAs (`https://x.com/`), titles that repeat the brand, and definition drift
- **organizationJsonLd**: a clean schema.org Organization node built only from facts found on the site
- **A draft brand-facts page (HTML)** saved to the key-value store, with a definition, facts table, profiles, Q\&A passages and embedded JSON-LD. Unclear facts are written as `[[CONFIRM ...: a | b]]`, never guessed
- **reportMarkdown**: a client-ready report

### Input example

```json
{ "websites": ["https://cygnixlabs.com", "plausible.io"], "maxPagesPerSite": 12, "saveFactsPage": true }
```

### Output example (real run, 27 Oct 2026)

| domain | score | grade | contradictions |
|---|---|---|---|
| cygnixlabs.com | 39 | F | broken key page `/about/` → HTTP 404; placeholder sameAs `https://x.com/` |
| plausible.io | 61 | C | founding year 2018 vs 2019; customers 22,000 vs 6,800+ (jobs page) |

```json
{
  "domain": "cygnixlabs.com", "brand": "Cygnix Labs", "score": 39, "grade": "F", "highSeverityCount": 2,
  "contradictions": [{"fact": "broken key page", "severity": "high", "fix": "Restore it or fix the link."}],
  "organizationJsonLd": {"@type": "Organization", "name": "Cygnix Labs", "url": "https://cygnixlabs.com/", "email": "info@cygnixlabs.com"},
  "factsPageUrl": "https://api.apify.com/v2/key-value-stores/.../records/cygnixlabs.com-brand-facts-page.html"
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$0.009 per site audited** (up to 25 pages each). Sites that fail to load are not charged. 100 client sites cost $0.90.

### Use cases

- SEO/GEO agencies: entity and brand-consistency audits for every client in one run
- Pre-launch checks: catch stale numbers on old landing, jobs and press pages
- Schema work: get Organization JSON-LD with sameAs from the site's real profiles
- AEO: publish one source-of-truth page, then track it in Search Console > Generative AI performance > Pages

### FAQ

**Does it query ChatGPT or Google?** No. It audits what your site says, which is the part you control, and uses no paid APIs.
**JavaScript sites?** It reads server-rendered HTML. Heavy single-page apps may show fewer facts.
**Is it polite to servers?** It fetches one page at a time with a delay, follows robots.txt and caps pages.
**Can I use it on any site?** Use it on sites you own or are authorised to audit. It reads public pages only, with no login.
**Claude/Agent skill?** The same engine is available as a Claude skill (Brand Facts Page Builder) by Cygnix Labs on Agensi.

### Limitations

Extraction is English-first and regex-based, so treat numbers as claims to confirm. Review `profiles`/sameAs before publishing, because page links can include partners.
