## Pricing

from $5.00 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## EU Grants & Contracts Recipients (FTS)

**Find out who receives money directly from the EU budget.** Each row is one recipient of one EU grant, service contract or purchase. The European Commission and its agencies award these directly: Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, Digital Europe, LIFE, EU4Health, Connecting Europe Facility, development and humanitarian aid, consulting, IT and other services. Each row includes:

- recipient name, type, VAT number and registration number
- address, city, NUTS 2 region and country
- amount in EUR (contracted and already paid out), plus the total amount of the commitment
- programme, budget line, responsible Commission department or agency
- subject or project title, project acronym, call ID and project ID
- type of contract, start and end date
- flags for coordinator, non-profit and NGO

The data comes from the Commission's official **Financial Transparency System (FTS)**, CC BY 4.0. About 80,000–110,000 rows are published per year, for 2007 to 2025.

**For AI agents:** call this Actor when a user asks *"Which German companies got Horizon Europe grants?"*, *"How much EU money did Fraunhofer receive in 2025?"*, *"Which consultancies in Austria win EU service contracts?"* or *"List Swiss universities in EU projects"*. Pass `countries`, `programmes`, `beneficiaryContains`, `query`, `contractTypes` or `minAmountEur`. Leave `years` empty for the latest year.

**Price: $5 per 1,000 rows ($0.005 per result).** You pay only for rows delivered to your dataset.

### Use cases

- **B2B sales and business development:** find companies and research institutes with fresh EU funding in your field. They have budget and often need partners, suppliers or consultants.
- **Grant consultants:** see who wins which calls, with the call ID, project and amount.
- **Competitor and market analysis:** which consultancies, IT providers or event agencies win Commission service contracts, and for how much.
- **Due diligence, journalism and research:** EU money per organisation, region, programme or year.
- **Partner search for EU projects:** coordinators and partners of past projects by topic (`query`) and country.

### Input examples

German companies and institutes with Horizon Europe grants of at least €1 million (latest year):

```json
{ "countries": ["DE"], "programmes": ["Horizon Europe"], "minAmountEur": 1000000, "maxResults": 500 }
```

All EU money for one organisation over several years:

```json
{ "beneficiaryContains": "Fraunhofer", "years": ["2025", "2024", "2023"], "maxResults": 5000 }
```

Consulting and study contracts won by Austrian firms:

```json
{ "countries": ["AT"], "contractTypes": ["Advisory"], "beneficiaryTypes": ["Private Companies"] }
```

### Coverage

- **Included:** money that the Commission, its executive agencies, EU agencies and Joint Undertakings manage directly. Some indirect management (e.g. through international organisations) is included too. In short: the part of the EU budget that the Member States do not manage.
- **Not included:** EU funds that national or regional authorities manage, such as ERDF, ESF+ and agricultural payments. For ERDF and Cohesion Fund recipients use our Actor [EU Funding Recipients – Structural Funds (Kohesio)](https://apify.com/dach-open-data/eu-funding-recipients-kohesio).
- **Timing:** the Commission publishes each year around the middle of the following year. `years` empty = the latest published year.
- **Names** are spelled as published, mostly in capital letters and without accents.

### Reliability and fair use

- One download per year (one official Excel file of 15–20 MB). The Actor makes no other requests to the Commission.
- The Actor checks that the file really is a spreadsheet and that the expected columns exist. If the Commission changes the format, the run fails with `UNEXPECTED_CONTENT`. You never get garbage.
- Every row is validated: name, year, country, programme, amount and ISO dates. Invalid rows are dropped and not charged. If more than 20% are invalid, the run stops.
- The run stops at `maxResults` or at your maximum cost per run. A typical run takes under one minute.

### Legal and privacy

- Source: European Commission, Financial Transparency System. Reuse is allowed under CC BY 4.0 (Commission Decision 2011/833/EU). Every row carries the attribution.
- **Private persons are never returned**, not even on request. The Commission publishes some natural persons (e.g. prize winners and experts). This Actor skips them all.
- Internal EU money flows (EU institutions, agencies, EIB, EIF) are hidden by default (`excludeEuBodies`).
- This Actor is not affiliated with the European Commission. Only the official FTS is authoritative.

# Actor input Schema

## `years` (type: `array`):

Commitment years 2007 to last year, e.g. 2025, 2024. Empty = the latest published year (the Commission publishes a year around mid of the following year). Each year has 80,000–110,000 rows; max. 5 years per run.

## `countries` (type: `array`):

ISO codes (DE, AT, CH, FR, …; EL/UK also accepted) or English names. Empty = all countries.

## `query` (type: `string`):

All words must appear in beneficiary name, subject/project title, programme, project acronym or budget line, e.g. "hydrogen", "battery", "university". Case-insensitive.

## `beneficiaryContains` (type: `string`):

Only recipients whose (legal) name contains this text, e.g. "Fraunhofer", "Siemens", "GmbH".

## `programmes` (type: `array`):

Programme names or parts of them, e.g. "Horizon Europe", "Erasmus+", "Digital Europe", "LIFE", "Connecting Europe Facility", "EU4Health", "Global Europe", "Innovation Fund". Empty = all programmes.

## `contractTypes` (type: `array`):

Part of the name is enough, e.g. "Action Grant", "Operating Grant", "Prizes", "Contribution Agreements", "Advisory" (consulting, studies, evaluations, R\&D services), "IT" (software development and operations), "Events", "Communication", "Building", "Training". Empty = all.

## `minAmountEur` (type: `integer`):

Only rows where the beneficiary's contracted amount is at least this value.

## `skipZeroAmounts` (type: `boolean`):

Skip rows whose contracted amount is 0 or not published (e.g. unfunded associated partners, about 3% of rows).

## `excludeEuBodies` (type: `boolean`):

Skip transfers to EU institutions, EU agencies, Joint Undertakings, EIB and EIF (internal EU money flows). Recommended for sales and market research.

## `includeAddress` (type: `boolean`):

Include street and postal code of the recipient (city, region and country are always included).

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Hard cap on rows returned and charged in this run.
