## Pricing

from $1.40 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Germany New Car Registrations – KBA by Brand, Model, EV

**Get the official monthly new car registrations in Germany for every brand and model series, from the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA), Germany's Federal Motor Transport Authority.** Each row is one model series, one brand total or the whole market for one month. It includes:

- new registrations in the month and year-to-date
- by drive type: diesel, hybrid (with and without plug-in), plug-in hybrid, **battery electric (BEV)**, petrol and diesel variants
- all-wheel drive and convertibles
- the brand's market share year-to-date, or a model's share of its brand
- calculated BEV share and plug-in share (BEV + PHEV) for the month

The data comes from the KBA's official statistics *FZ 10 – Neuzulassungen von Personenkraftwagen nach Marken und Modellreihen*. It is available from January 2025 and is published in the first days of each month.

**For AI agents:** call this Actor when a user asks *"How many Teslas were registered in Germany last month?"*, *"What was the EV share of new cars in Germany in September?"*, *"Top-selling VW models this year?"* or *"Compare BYD and Tesla registrations in Germany"*. Pass `brands`, `models`, `months` and `rowTypes`. Without input you get the latest month.

**Price: $2 per 1,000 rows ($0.002 per result).** A brand query usually returns 5–40 rows. A whole month (about 545 rows) costs about $1.10.

### Use cases

- **Automotive industry, dealers and suppliers:** track brands, models and drive types month by month.
- **EV market analysis:** BEV and plug-in shares per brand and model, year-to-date trends.
- **Journalists, analysts and investors:** quick, official numbers for Germany, Europe's largest car market.
- **AI assistants:** answer registration questions with the official source.

### Input examples

Tesla, BYD and VW in the latest month:

```json
{ "brands": ["TESLA", "BYD", "VW"] }
```

All brand totals (market shares) for the first nine months of 2026:

```json
{ "months": ["2026-01", "2026-02", "2026-03", "2026-04", "2026-05", "2026-06", "2026-07", "2026-08", "2026-09"], "rowTypes": ["brandTotal"] }
```

Golf registrations by drive type:

```json
{ "brands": ["VW"], "models": ["GOLF"], "rowTypes": ["model"] }
```

### Reliability and fair use

- One official Excel file per month. The KBA's robots.txt asks for **30 seconds between downloads**, and this Actor respects that. A single month takes about 35 seconds, 12 months about 6 minutes.
- The file is checked for the expected table: header *Marke / Modellreihe*, drive-type columns and the total row *NEUZULASSUNGEN INSGESAMT*. Otherwise the run stops with `UNEXPECTED_CONTENT` instead of returning garbage. "-" in the source means zero and is returned as `0`.
- The run stops at `maxResults` or at your maximum cost per run.

### Legal

- Source: Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt, Flensburg, statistics FZ 10. Licensed under the Datenlizenz Deutschland – Namensnennung – Version 2.0. Every row carries the attribution and a link to the file.
- BEV and plug-in shares are calculated by this Actor from the official numbers. All other values are passed through unchanged.
- This Actor is not affiliated with the KBA.
