## Pricing

from $0.70 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## German Weather Warnings – Official DWD Alerts (CAP)

**Get all current official weather warnings for Germany as structured data, straight from the Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD), Germany's national meteorological service.** Thunderstorms, storm gusts, heavy rain, snow, black ice, frost, heat, UV and fog. The warnings come per district or municipality. Each row is one warning for one area. It includes:

- event (e.g. *STURMBÖEN*, *SCHWERES GEWITTER*, *GLÄTTE*) and event group (`WIND`, `THUNDERSTORM`, `ICE` …)
- severity on the DWD scale: Minor (yellow), Moderate (orange), Severe (red), Extreme (violet)
- start (`onset`), end (`expires`) and when the warning was issued (`sent`)
- headline, description and the DWD's instructions
- altitude range in metres (e.g. snow only above 800 m)
- area name, warn cell ID, official district key (AGS) and state
- measured or expected values, e.g. gusts in km/h or visibility in m
- warning texts in German, English or Spanish

Ask by area name, state, event type or severity. You can also ask whether a point (latitude, longitude) lies inside a warning area.

**For AI agents:** call this Actor when a user asks *"Is there a storm warning for Munich right now?"*, *"Which districts have a heat warning today?"*, *"Are there severe thunderstorm warnings in Bavaria?"* or *"Is my location 50.94, 6.96 affected by a weather warning?"*. Pass `areas`, `near`, `states`, `eventGroups`, `minSeverity` or `onlyActiveNow`. Set `language: "en"` for English texts.

**Price: $1 per 1,000 rows ($0.001 per result).** If no warning is active, nothing is charged except the tiny start fee.

### Use cases

- **Logistics, construction and event planning:** check routes, sites and venues for storm, ice or thunderstorm warnings.
- **Insurers and facility managers:** log warnings per district for claims handling and prevention.
- **Apps, smart home and alerting:** schedule the Actor (e.g. every 15 minutes) and send your own notifications.
- **AI assistants:** answer "is there a weather warning here?" with the official source.

### Input examples

Storm and thunderstorm warnings (orange or higher) active now in Bavaria, in English:

```json
{ "states": ["BY"], "eventGroups": ["WIND", "THUNDERSTORM"], "minSeverity": "Moderate", "onlyActiveNow": true, "language": "en" }
```

Is there any warning at a location?

```json
{ "near": "50.94, 6.96" }
```

All warnings for some cities and districts:

```json
{ "areas": ["München", "Köln", "Region Hannover"] }
```

### Reliability and fair use

- One request per run: the DWD's official "latest status" file with all valid warnings (updated several times per hour).
- Every warning file is checked for the CAP structure. Every row is validated: ID, event, severity, headline, area and ISO times. If the format changes, the run fails with `UNEXPECTED_CONTENT`. Invalid rows are dropped and not charged.
- An empty status file means: no warnings are active right now. That is a normal result, not an error.
- Cancelled warnings and test messages are skipped. The most severe warnings come first.

### Legal

- Source: Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD), opendata.dwd.de. Reuse is allowed under CC BY 4.0 with the attribution "Deutscher Wetterdienst". Every row carries it.
- Area outlines (optional) are based on © GeoBasis-DE / BKG (data modified). This attribution is added to rows with polygons.
- Only the warnings on dwd.de and in the DWD's WarnWetter app are authoritative. This Actor is not affiliated with the DWD.
