## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

## Catho Jobs Scraper

Searches Catho.com.br by term and city and returns job title, company, salary and city — built for recruiters and analysts mapping the Brazilian job market.

### Use cases

- A recruiter surveys how many roles of a title are open in one city right now, and at what pay.
- A staffing agency tracks the salary ranges companies disclose for a role across regions.
- A job seeker automates a daily digest of new Catho postings matching a keyword.

### Input example

```json
{
  "termo": "vendedor",
  "cidade": "Curitiba PR",
  "maxItems": 30
}
```

`cidade` is optional. Use the city name with the state code ("Curitiba PR", "São Paulo SP"); leave it empty for all of Brazil.

### Output example

Real run on 11/09/2026 with the input above (5 of 30 rows, `coletado_em` and `url_origem` omitted):

```json
{"id": "38329316", "vaga": "Vendedor Interno", "empresa": "GLOBE CONNECT SERVICOS DE MARKETING DIRETO LTDA", "salario": "R$ 1.742", "cidade": "Curitiba", "url": "https://www.catho.com.br/vagas/vendedor-interno/38329316"}
{"id": "38364079", "vaga": "Vendedor", "empresa": "TONY FERNANDO MARTINS", "salario": "R$ 2.500", "cidade": "Curitiba", "url": "https://www.catho.com.br/vagas/vendedor/38364079"}
{"id": "38361730", "vaga": "Vendedor", "empresa": "Empresa Confidencial", "salario": "A partir de R$ 2.000,00 + 1 benefício", "cidade": "Curitiba", "url": "https://www.catho.com.br/vagas/vendedor/38361730"}
{"id": "38361389", "vaga": "Vendedor", "empresa": "ECONOMY ASSESSORIA", "salario": "R$ 1.941 + 5 benefícios", "cidade": "Curitiba", "url": "https://www.catho.com.br/vagas/vendedor/38361389"}
{"id": "38354999", "vaga": "Vendedor", "empresa": "Tayana Vasconcelos de Carvalho", "salario": "Até R$ 2.000,00", "cidade": "Curitiba", "url": "https://www.catho.com.br/vagas/vendedor/38354999"}
```

Every row also carries `coletado_em` (ISO 8601 collection time) and `url_origem`.

### Price

**US$ 2.00 per 1,000 results, no subscription.** You pay only for jobs delivered to the dataset.

### How to use

- **API**: call the Actor's `run-sync-get-dataset-items` endpoint with `termo`, optional `cidade` and `maxItems`.
- **Scheduled**: run daily with Apify Schedules to catch new postings in a city.
- **Integrations**: n8n, Make or Zapier via the official Apify app, straight into a spreadsheet or CRM.

### Limitations

- Catho has no public API; the Actor reads the public search pages over HTTP (no browser), rotating the proxy IP when Catho refuses one.
- `salario` is the text Catho shows on the card ("R$ 2.500", "A combinar", "Até R$ 2.000,00 + 1 benefício"), not a parsed number.
- Small businesses (MEI) are often listed under the owner's name; the Actor removes any CPF number from the company field.
- If Catho changes its layout, the run fails with a clear error instead of returning an empty dataset. Open an issue and it will be fixed.

This Actor collects only public data and respects Catho's terms of use.
