## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Tagvenue Scraper

Collect public Tagvenue venue-room listings as structured data for venue sourcing, market research, event planning, and location comparisons. Start from a Tagvenue search URL or describe the location and room category you need; the Actor follows result pages, removes duplicates, and returns one normalized record per venue room.

### What you can do

- Build a shortlist of meeting rooms, party venues, wedding venues, or other public Tagvenue listings.
- Compare capacity, displayed price, rating, review count, and location details across rooms.
- Filter extracted listings to geographic coordinate bounds.
- Export the dataset to JSON, CSV, Excel, or another format supported by Apify.

### Input

Run the Actor with a public Tagvenue `searchUrl`, or use `country`, `locationLabel`, and an optional `roomTag` to construct a search. For example:

```json
{
  "country": "uk",
  "locationLabel": "London",
  "roomTag": "meeting-rooms",
  "maxItems": 25,
  "enrichDetails": true
}
```

Important controls include:

- `maxItems`: maximum unique venue-room records, from 1 to 5,000.
- `bounds`: optional `north`, `south`, `east`, and `west` coordinate filter. Rooms without coordinates are excluded when this is used.
- `enrichDetails`: visits individual public listing pages to fill fields not present in search results.
- `requestDelayMs`: delay between requests, from 0 to 60,000 milliseconds.
- `maxPages`: pagination safety limit.
- `proxyConfiguration`: optional Apify Proxy or custom proxy settings. Proxy use is not required for ordinary public access.

No Tagvenue customer login is required. Only public search and listing pages are requested.

### Results

Each default-dataset item represents one unique venue room:

```json
{
  "venueName": "Acme House",
  "roomName": "Board Room",
  "capacity": 40,
  "price": "£90/hour",
  "rating": 4.8,
  "reviews": 12,
  "latitude": 51.51,
  "longitude": -0.12,
  "nearestStation": "Temple Station",
  "listingUrl": "https://www.tagvenue.com/rooms/london/101/acme/board-room"
}
```

Fields unavailable on the public page are returned as `null`. Records are deduplicated by room ID or canonical listing URL.

### Pricing and charging

This Actor uses pay per event. The `venue-scraped` event is charged once for each unique venue-room record successfully written to the default dataset. Duplicate, filtered, undiscovered, and unreturned records are not charged. If a run ends early, records already returned remain chargeable.

### Limitations

Tagvenue can change its public page structure, which may affect extraction. Country-based URL construction directly covers common UK, US, Australia, and Canada routes; for other or specialised searches, provide a public `searchUrl`. Displayed prices and availability are source data and may change on Tagvenue.

# Actor input Schema

## `searchUrl` (type: `string`):

An HTTPS search or listing URL on tagvenue.com. When set, it takes precedence over location fields.

## `country` (type: `string`):

Country name or two-letter code used to construct the public Tagvenue route.

## `locationLabel` (type: `string`):

City or location label, for example London or New York.

## `roomTag` (type: `string`):

A room/category label such as meeting-rooms, party-venues, or wedding-venues.

## `bounds` (type: `object`):

Optional inclusive coordinate bounds. Listings without coordinates are excluded.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of unique venue-room records to return.

## `enrichDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Visit each public listing page to fill fields missing from search results.

## `requestDelayMs` (type: `integer`):

Delay applied before every Tagvenue request.

## `maxPages` (type: `integer`):

Safety limit for pagination.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Optional Apify Proxy or custom proxy configuration. Direct public access is used when disabled.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "country": "uk",
  "locationLabel": "London",
  "roomTag": "meeting-rooms",
  "maxItems": 10,
  "enrichDetails": true,
  "requestDelayMs": 500,
  "maxPages": 250,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": false
  }
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

Normalized unique venue-room records returned by the Actor.
