## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## App Reviews Scraper (Google Play + App Store)

Scrape **app reviews from Google Play and the Apple App Store in one run**. Paste links or ids from either store and get one clean table with the same fields for both: star rating, title, review text, date, app version, likes and developer replies. Export to JSON, CSV or Excel, or call it from the API, Make, Zapier, n8n or an AI agent.

No more running two different scrapers and merging their outputs by hand.

### Why this one

- **Both stores, one schema.** Compare your iOS and Android reviews side by side, or track a competitor on both platforms.
- **Reliable App Store results.** Apple's public review feed returns empty pages at random. Many scrapers pass that on to you as "0 reviews". This one retries every page until Apple returns its data.
- **More App Store reviews per app.** Apple shows at most 500 reviews per sort order. When you ask for more, this scraper also collects the "most helpful" list and removes duplicates, giving up to about 1,000 per country.
- **Fast Google Play.** Hundreds of reviews per second, with no fixed cap.
- **Star filter.** Get only 1 and 2 star reviews to find bugs and complaints fast.
- **Many countries and languages.** App Store reviews differ by country, so add as many country codes as you need. Google Play reviews differ by language, so set the language.

### Use cases

- **App developers and product managers:** track what users complain about after each release, broken down by app version.
- **Competitor research:** see what users love and hate about rival apps on both platforms.
- **ASO and marketing:** mine real user language for store listings and ads.
- **Customer support:** find reviews without a developer reply.
- **Sentiment analysis and AI:** feed clean review text into an LLM or a dashboard on a schedule.

### How to use

1. Add your **apps**, one per line. Any of these work:
   - `https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spotify.music`
   - `com.spotify.music`
   - `https://apps.apple.com/us/app/spotify-music-and-podcasts/id324684580`
   - `324684580`
2. Set **max reviews** per app and country.
3. Optionally pick a **sort order**, **star ratings** and **countries**.
4. Click **Start**. Reviews appear in the dataset tab and can be downloaded in any format.

### Input example

```json
{
  "apps": [
    "com.spotify.music",
    "https://apps.apple.com/us/app/spotify-music-and-podcasts/id324684580"
  ],
  "maxReviews": 500,
  "sort": "newest",
  "stars": [1, 2],
  "countries": ["us", "gb"],
  "language": "en"
}
```

### Output example

```json
{
  "store": "appStore",
  "appId": "835599320",
  "appName": "TikTok - Videos, Shop & LIVE",
  "country": "US",
  "language": null,
  "reviewId": "14640676954",
  "userName": "mvanec",
  "userImage": null,
  "rating": 2,
  "title": "AirPlay Broken",
  "text": "Y'all keep breaking TikTok over AirPlay...",
  "date": "2026-10-08T04:31:42Z",
  "thumbsUp": 0,
  "appVersion": "47.1.0",
  "replyText": null,
  "replyDate": null,
  "url": "https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id835599320?see-all=reviews"
}
```

| Field | Google Play | App Store |
|---|---|---|
| `rating`, `text`, `date`, `userName`, `reviewId` | yes | yes |
| `title` | no (Google Play reviews have no title) | yes |
| `thumbsUp` | "helpful" votes | vote sum |
| `appVersion` | when the reviewer's version is known | yes |
| `replyText`, `replyDate` | developer replies | not in Apple's public feed |
| `userImage` | yes | no |

If an app can't be found, you get a single item with an `error` field instead of a failed run, and you are not charged for it.

### Pricing

You pay per review returned. Error items are free. Apify platform usage is included.

### Limits

- **App Store:** Apple's public feed covers the newest 500 and the most helpful 500 reviews per app and country. Older reviews are not available from any public source.
- **Google Play:** the language setting decides which reviews you get, just like on the Play Store website.

### FAQ

**Is it legal to scrape app reviews?** This actor only reads publicly visible reviews. It doesn't log in and doesn't collect private data. Check the rules that apply to your use of the data.

**Can I schedule it?** Yes. Use Apify schedules to collect new reviews daily or weekly, with sort set to `newest`.

**Something broke?** Open an issue on the Issues tab and it will be fixed quickly.

# Actor input Schema

## `apps` (type: `array`):

Google Play or App Store links, Google Play package names (com.spotify.music) or App Store ids (324684580). Mix both stores freely.

## `maxReviews` (type: `integer`):

Google Play has no practical limit. The App Store exposes at most about 1,000 reviews per app and country (500 newest + 500 most helpful); add more countries to get more.

## `sort` (type: `string`):

Newest is best for monitoring. On the App Store, 'most relevant' uses Apple's 'most helpful' order.

## `stars` (type: `array`):

For example \[1, 2] for negative reviews only. Leave empty for all ratings.

## `countries` (type: `array`):

Two-letter country codes such as us, gb, de, in. App Store reviews differ by country, so each App Store app is scraped once per country. Google Play reviews depend on the language setting instead, so Play apps use only the first country.

## `language` (type: `string`):

Two-letter language code for Google Play reviews, such as en, de, es. The App Store returns reviews in the country's own languages.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify Proxy is recommended for large runs.

  ],
  "maxReviews": 100,
  "sort": "newest",
  "stars": [],
  "countries": [
    "us"
  ],
  "language": "en",
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true
  }
}
```
# Actor output Schema
## `results` (type: `string`):
One item per review, same fields for both stores.
