## Pricing

from $1.50 / 1,000 domains

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Domain Lookup - WHOIS/RDAP, DNS, SSL & email security

Check **hundreds of domains in one run** and get, for each one: **registrar, creation and expiry
dates, domain age** (from RDAP, the official successor to WHOIS), **DNS records**, **SPF and DMARC**
email security, the **live SSL certificate with days left**, and **where the site redirects**.

### Why this one

- **Official sources only.** Registration data comes straight from each TLD registry's RDAP
  service (Verisign for .com, Nominet for .uk, and 1,200+ more), DNS from Cloudflare's resolver,
  SSL from the certificate the server actually presents. No scraped WHOIS sites.
- **Everything in one row.** Registration, DNS, email security, SSL and HTTP side by side, so you can
  sort by expiry, age, DMARC policy or certificate days left.
- **Subdomains handled.** `docs.github.com` is looked up as `github.com`.
- **Availability hint.** Domains with no registry record and no DNS are flagged `likelyAvailable`.
- **Honest gaps.** A few registries (for example .de and .io) don't publish RDAP data; those rows
  say so in `registrationNote` and still include DNS, SSL and HTTP.

### Output

```json
{
    "domain": "stripe.com",
    "registeredDomain": "stripe.com",
    "registrar": "SafeNames Ltd.",
    "createdAt": "1995-09-12T04:00:00Z",
    "expiresAt": "2027-09-11T04:00:00Z",
    "domainAgeDays": 11368,
    "daysUntilExpiry": 319,
    "status": ["client delete prohibited", "client transfer prohibited"],
    "nameservers": ["ns-1087.awsdns-07.org", "..."],
    "resolves": true,
    "ipv4": ["..."],
    "mx": ["aspmx.l.google.com", "..."],
    "spf": "v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com ...",
    "dmarc": "v=DMARC1; p=reject; ...",
    "dmarcPolicy": "reject",
    "ssl": { "issuer": "DigiCert, Inc.", "validTo": "2027-05-09T23:59:59.000Z", "daysLeft": 194, "trusted": true, "altNames": ["stripe.com", "www.stripe.com"] },
    "http": { "status": 200, "finalUrl": "https://stripe.com/", "server": "nginx", "redirected": false },
    "likelyAvailable": false
}
```

### Use cases

- **Portfolio and brand monitoring:** catch expiring domains and certificates before they lapse.
- **Security and IT audits:** find domains missing SPF or DMARC, or with untrusted certificates.
- **Sales and research:** domain age and registrar as a signal about a company or site.
- **Domain investing:** check lists for likely-available names in bulk.

### Pricing

Pay per domain looked up. See the Pricing tab. Invalid inputs are free.

### Good to know

- RDAP shows registrant contact details only where the registry publishes them; most redact
  personal data, and this Actor does not collect registrant contacts.
- `likelyAvailable` is a strong hint, not a guarantee; confirm with a registrar before buying.
