## Pricing

from $2.00 / 1,000 profile or posts

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Instagram Profile & Posts Scraper - Engagement Rate, No Login

Scrape **public Instagram profiles and posts without logging in**. One row per profile gives you
**followers, following, post count, bio, links, highlights and the 12 latest posts with their likes,
comments and dates**, plus **average likes, average comments and engagement rate** already worked out.
Paste post or reel URLs to get **likes, comments, exact time, caption, hashtags, collaborators,
tagged accounts and media URLs**.

### Why this one

- **Engagement rate in the same row.** No second Actor, no spreadsheet formulas: avg likes, avg
  comments and engagement rate over the latest posts, next to the follower count.
- **No login, no cookies, no account risk.** It reads only what Instagram shows logged-out visitors.
  You never hand over a session cookie.
- **Pay only for results.** Accounts that don't exist, are private or age-restricted, and invalid
  inputs are listed in the run summary and never charged.
- **Built to keep running.** Each request uses a browser-like session that rotates on rate limits.
  Profiles go through residential proxies (the only IPs Instagram serves logged-out profiles to) and
  posts through cheaper datacenter proxies, switching automatically if they get blocked.

### Input

```json
{
    "usernames": ["natgeo", "https://www.instagram.com/nike/"],
    "postUrls": ["https://www.instagram.com/reel/DeTUk4sDSp-/"],
    "includePostDetails": true
}
```

Turn `includePostDetails` off for a faster, cheaper run with profile data and the latest-post grid only
(captions and dates, no likes or engagement).

### Output

A profile row:

```json
{
    "type": "profile",
    "username": "natgeo",
    "fullName": "National Geographic",
    "followersCount": 268269467,
    "followingCount": 195,
    "postsCount": 32000,
    "isVerified": true,
    "isPrivate": false,
    "biography": "Step into wonder and find your inner explorer with National Geographic 🌎",
    "externalUrls": [{ "title": "...", "url": "https://..." }],
    "highlights": ["BOTW 2027", "..."],
    "avgLikes": 50029,
    "avgComments": 183,
    "engagementRatePercent": 0.02,
    "lastPostAt": "2026-10-27T13:00:01.000Z",
    "latestPosts": [
        { "shortcode": "DeuOR-CjKE9", "url": "https://www.instagram.com/p/DeuOR-CjKE9/", "type": "image",
          "caption": "...", "takenAt": "2026-10-20T...", "likesCount": 61234, "commentsCount": 210, "coauthors": [] }
    ]
}
```

A post row:

```json
{
    "type": "post",
    "shortcode": "DeTUk4sDSp-",
    "postType": "reel",
    "ownerUsername": "nasa",
    "caption": "POV: you're watching the Earth set ...",
    "hashtags": ["NASA", "ArtemisII", "Artemis"],
    "likesCount": 749932,
    "commentsCount": 7517,
    "takenAt": "2026-10-10T15:15:02.000Z",
    "coauthors": ["nasasolarsystem", "nasaartemis"],
    "taggedUsers": ["nasaartemis"],
    "videoUrl": "https://...",
    "imageUrl": "https://..."
}
```

Engagement rate = (average likes + average comments) / followers × 100, over the latest posts whose
like counts are public.

### Use cases

- **Influencer marketing:** compare creators by real engagement, not just follower count.
- **Competitor and brand tracking:** posting frequency, what content performs, collaborations.
- **Campaign reporting:** likes and comments on a list of posts or reels.

### Pricing

Pay per profile or post returned, one fixed price with platform usage and proxy traffic included.
See the Pricing tab. Unavailable profiles and posts are free.

### Good to know

- **Latest 12 posts per profile.** That's what Instagram shows logged-out visitors. For older posts,
  pass their URLs in `postUrls`.
- **No view counts, comments text or follower lists.** Instagram doesn't show view counts to logged-out
  visitors, and this Actor doesn't collect comment text, commenter identities or contact details.
- **Private and age-restricted accounts.** Private accounts return profile counts only. Age-restricted
  accounts (for example some alcohol brands) are hidden from logged-out visitors, so they show up in the
  run summary as unavailable and aren't charged.
- Use the data in line with Instagram's terms and privacy laws such as GDPR where they apply to you.

# Actor input Schema

## `usernames` (type: `array`):

Instagram usernames or profile URLs, e.g. natgeo or https://www.instagram.com/nike/. One row per profile: follower counts, bio, links and the 12 latest posts.

## `postUrls` (type: `array`):

Post or reel URLs, e.g. https://www.instagram.com/p/DeJ28eTxo4s/. One row per post: likes, comments, exact time, caption, hashtags, collaborators, media URLs.

## `includePostDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Opens each profile's 12 latest posts to add likes, comments and exact times, and computes average likes, average comments and engagement rate. Turn off for faster, cheaper profile-only runs.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):
