## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Kiyoh Reviews Scraper

Extract company profiles and customer reviews from **Kiyoh**, the Dutch review platform used by thousands of webshops and service businesses.

Paste any Kiyoh profile URL and get the company's aggregate scores plus every review, with rating, date, text, language, and the owner's public reply.

### What you get

**Company records** (`recordType: "company"`)

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `companyName` | Company as listed on Kiyoh |
| `locationId` | Stable numeric Kiyoh ID |
| `country`, `category` | Location and business category |
| `averageRating` / `ratingMax` | All-time score out of 10 |
| `lastTwelveMonthsRating` | Score out of 10 over the last 12 months |
| `recommendPercentage` | Share of reviewers who would recommend the company |
| `totalReviews` | Total review count |
| `aiSummary`, `aiStrengths` | Kiyoh's own generated summary and recurring strengths |

**Review records** (`recordType: "review"`)

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `reviewId` | UUID — the safe deduplication key |
| `reviewerName`, `reviewerCity` | Reviewer identity as published |
| `rating` / `ratingMax` | Score out of 10 |
| `ratedAt` | ISO 8601 UTC timestamp |
| `title`, `body` | Headline and full review text |
| `ownerReply` | The company's public response, when present |
| `language` | Language the review was written in |
| `recommends` | Whether the reviewer recommends the company |

#### Two ratings that are easy to confuse

`averageRating` is the all-time score. `lastTwelveMonthsRating` covers only the last year and is usually the higher, more flattering number — it is the one most badges display. `recommendPercentage` is a third, separate measure. All three are returned so a comparison is possible rather than assumed.

### Input

| Option | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `startUrls` | *(required)* | Kiyoh profile URLs, e.g. `https://www.kiyoh.com/reviews/1044505/kiyoh_nl_klantbeoordelingen` |
| `includeReviews` | `true` | Turn off to save only company profiles with aggregate scores |
| `maxReviewsPerCompany` | `100` | Cap on reviews per company |
| `language` | `en` | Language for returned labels |

Both the numeric ID and the name in the URL are required — Kiyoh serves the same page shell for any numeric path, so a URL that loads in a browser is not proof the company exists. The Actor validates against the API instead.

### Notes on cost

Reviews come from Kiyoh's own public JSON API — no browser, no proxy, and 25 reviews per request. A company with 100 reviews costs four requests and a few seconds.

### Output example

```json
{
  "recordType": "company",
  "companyName": "Kiyoh Klantbeoordelingen",
  "locationId": "1044505",
  "country": "Netherlands",
  "averageRating": 8.7,
  "lastTwelveMonthsRating": 9.6,
  "recommendPercentage": 91,
  "totalReviews": 1472,
  "aiStrengths": ["Fast help", "Friendly staff", "Clear explanations"]
}
```

Only publicly published review information is collected. No login and no private data.

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Company profile pages, for example https://www.kiyoh.com/reviews/1044505/kiyoh\_nl\_klantbeoordelingen. Leave empty and enable "Crawl all companies" to scrape the whole directory.

Enumerate every company on Kiyoh from its sitemap and scrape them all. Ignores the URLs above when enabled.

## `maxCompanies` (type: `integer`):

Caps how many companies are scraped when crawling the whole directory. Kiyoh lists roughly 6,100.

## `includeReviews` (type: `boolean`):

Turn off to save only the company profile with its aggregate scores.

## `maxReviewsPerCompany` (type: `integer`):

Caps how many reviews are collected for each company.

## `language` (type: `string`):

Language for the returned labels and review filtering.
