## SEC EDGAR Recent Filings

Apify Actor that looks up one or more US ticker symbols or CIKs, fetches recent company submissions from the public SEC EDGAR data.sec.gov API, and writes structured rows:

ticker, cik, name, form, filed, accession, primaryDocument, documentUrl

Default forms: 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K (amendments such as 10-K/A included unless disabled).

Legal public data only. No Playwright. Limited-permission Actor. Standby is off (usesStandbyMode: false). Charge PPE events only. Do not enable Pay per event + usage (needed for agentic payments).

### Input

- tickersOrCiks (required string list): Tickers (AAPL) and/or CIKs (320193 or 0000320193).
- formTypes (string list, default 10-K / 10-Q / 8-K).
- maxFilingsPerIssuer (integer, default 10).
- includeAmendments (boolean, default true).

### SEC User-Agent (required by SEC)

SEC fair-access rules require a User-Agent with a contact. This Actor reads SEC\_USER\_AGENT and defaults to a placeholder:

Before publishing, set a real contact email in Actor environment variables (Console or .actor/actor.json environmentVariables.SEC\_USER\_AGENT). Example: YourName your-actor (you@yourdomain.com).

### Pay-per-event (PROPOSED, not live store prices)

Code charges:

- one actor-start event per run (Actor.charge)
- one filing event per dataset item (Actor.pushData(row, "filing"))

Proposed Console prices (not live until you set them in Publication > Monetization):

- actor-start: $0.01
- filing: $0.005

actor.json spec (actorSpecification: 1, docs 2026-08-28) does not include a PPE event list. Pricing is Console-only after push. Do not turn on Pay per event + usage.
Add custom events actor-start and filing. Remove apify-default-dataset-item so dataset writes are not charged twice. Do not combine synthetic apify-actor-start with this custom actor-start event.

Limited permissions: default for new Actors; confirm Settings > Actor permissions > Limited permissions after push.

### Local run (no Apify cloud required)

Install JavaScript dependencies in this folder, then start the Actor with ACTOR\_TEST\_PAY\_PER\_EVENT=true.
The SDK uses local storage/ when APIFY\_IS\_AT\_HOME is unset. Put input at storage/key\_value\_stores/default/INPUT.json. Dataset items: storage/datasets/default/. Local charging-log dataset uses a 1 USD placeholder per event because live prices live on the platform. Network is required for www.sec.gov and data.sec.gov.
