## Pricing

from $2.56 / 1,000 articles

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Media Monitoring: Google News Full Text & Real URLs

This Google News scraper searches any keyword, topic or site and returns **the real article URL** and **the full article text**. Most Google News scrapers stop at a `news.google.com/...` redirect link and a headline. This one also gives you author, publish date, site name and lead image, ready for AI summaries, RAG, sentiment analysis and media monitoring.

### What data can you scrape from Google News

- **Any query with Google News operators:** `site:`, `intitle:`, `-exclude`, `"exact phrase"`.
- **Real publisher URLs.** Google's redirect links are decoded.
- **Full text extraction** of the clean article body, with menus, ads and comments removed.
- **Time ranges** from the past hour to the past 30 days. Any country edition and language.
- **Only new since last run**, for scheduled monitoring.
- **Fair billing:** you pay for full text only when it was actually extracted.

### Input example

```json
{
  "queries": ["home assistant", "site:theverge.com apple"],
  "timeRange": "1d",
  "maxArticlesPerQuery": 50,
  "fullText": true,
  "country": "US",
  "language": "en-US"
}
```

### Output

```json
{
  "title": "Apple HomeView finally offers a simpler alternative to Home Assistant",
  "source": "ZDNET", "publishedAt": "2026-10-14T15:02:00Z",
  "url": "https://www.zdnet.com/home-and-office/apple-homeview-...",
  "fullTextStatus": "ok", "wordCount": 1244, "author": "...", "siteName": "ZDNET",
  "fullText": "Apple's new HomeView ...", "query": "home assistant"
}
```

`fullTextStatus` is `ok`, `blocked_by_site` (the publisher refuses automated access), `blocked_or_empty` (paywall or script-only page), or an HTTP code. Every article keeps its headline, source, date and real URL.

### Google News API with full text

Google has no official Google News API, and its RSS feeds give only headlines and redirect links. Call this Actor from the Apify API, Python, JavaScript, Make, Zapier or n8n and get articles with real URLs and full text as JSON, or export them to CSV, Excel or Google Sheets. No API key needed.

### Use it in Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor

Connect Apify's MCP server (mcp.apify.com) and your AI assistant can read the news itself. For example: "summarize today's news about Nvidia from the top outlets, with links." The only required input is `queries`.

### Use cases

- **Media monitoring and PR:** every mention of your brand, with the text.
- **AI pipelines:** daily news corpora for summaries, newsletters and RAG.
- **Research:** sentiment and topic tracking across outlets.

### How much does it cost

Pay per event: **$0.0032 per article** (`article`) plus **$0.001 per article with full text extracted** (`full-text`, charged only when extraction succeeds). Example: 100 articles with full text cost about $0.42. Apify Silver plans get 10% off, Gold and higher 20%.

### FAQ

#### Is there a Google News API?

Not an official one: Google retired its Google News Search API, and the RSS feeds return only headlines with news.google.com redirect links. This Actor works as a Google News API: send a query, get articles with real URLs, full text, author and date.

#### How do I scrape Google News articles with the full text?

Enter a keyword, topic or search with operators, choose a country and time range, and run. Each result comes with the real publisher URL and the extracted article body in `fullText`.

#### Why do I get news.google.com links from other scrapers?

Google News shows its own redirect links. This Actor decodes them to the publisher's real URL.

#### Why is the full text empty for some articles?

Some publishers block automated access or sit behind a paywall. The `fullTextStatus` field says why (`blocked_by_site`, `blocked_or_empty` or an HTTP code), and you are not charged the full-text fee for those articles.

#### Can I get only new articles on each run?

Yes. Turn on the "only new since last run" option and schedule it for media monitoring.

#### Does it work for other countries and languages?

Yes. Choose any Google News country edition and language.

#### Is it legal to scrape Google News?

It reads public search results and public article pages, with no login. Respect each publisher's copyright and terms when you reuse the text.
