## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## LinkedIn Competitor Hijack Leads

Turn your competitors' audiences into your pipeline.

### Watch the demo

YouTube video coming soon.

### What this Actor does

Give it your competitors' profile or company URLs. The Actor finds every post they published recently, extracts **everyone who engaged** — reactors and commenters — then scores each person and hands you a ranked lead list:

- **Seniority** — read from each person's headline (C-level, VP, Head, Director, Manager, Senior).
- **Engagement depth** — comments weigh far more than reactions, and repeat engagement across posts adds more.
- **Company** — resolved for every lead.
- **Do-not-contact list** — your own company, customers, or any company you never want surfaced is excluded.

Someone engaging with a competitor's content has a live interest in your category. This Actor finds them first and tells you who is worth contacting.

It uses public data only, requires no cookies and no login.

### Input

| Field | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `source_profile_urls` | string\[] | No | Competitor executives' or creators' profile URLs |
| `source_company_urls` | string\[] | No | Competitor company page URLs |
| `max_posts_per_source` | integer | No | Posts scanned per source — the main cost control (default `8`, 1–30) |
| `exclude_companies` | string\[] | No | Company names or LinkedIn URLs to exclude (DNC) |
| `include_reactions` | boolean | No | Count reactors (default `true`) |
| `include_commenters` | boolean | No | Count commenters (default `true`) |

Provide at least one source profile URL or company URL.

Example:

```json
{
  "source_profile_urls": ["https://www.linkedin.com/in/example-competitor"],
  "max_posts_per_source": 8,
  "exclude_companies": ["Your Own Company", "https://www.linkedin.com/company/existing-customer"],
  "include_commenters": true
}
```

### How to use it

1. Paste the competitor profiles and/or company pages you want to mine.
2. Add your do-not-contact companies.
3. Click **Start**.
4. Work the list from the top of `leadScore` — those are senior people engaging deeply.

### Output

One row per scored lead:

```json
{
  "schemaVersion": "1.0",
  "checkedAt": "2026-09-25T10:00:00+00:00",
  "profileUrl": "https://www.linkedin.com/in/example-lead",
  "fullName": "Example Lead",
  "headline": "VP Marketing",
  "companyName": "Globex",
  "companyUrl": "https://www.linkedin.com/company/globex",
  "commentCount": 3,
  "reactionCount": 2,
  "uniquePostsEngaged": 4,
  "seniorityScore": 90,
  "engagementScore": 68,
  "leadScore": 81,
  "sourcesEngaged": ["example-competitor"],
  "collectedAt": "2026-09-25T10:00:00+00:00"
}
```

The `OUTPUT` key-value-store record reports sources, posts scanned, engagers found, leads written, and how many were excluded.

### Pricing

| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| Actor start | $0.02 |
| Scored lead | $0.04 |

You pay per lead returned. A run across 8 competitor posts typically yields 50–300 leads.

### Common uses

- **Competitive displacement** — reach the people already interested in the category.
- **Warm outbound** — open with the competitor's own post as the reason to talk.
- **Category demand mapping** — see which companies are paying attention right now.
- **Sales enablement** — feed reps a ranked list instead of a raw export.

### Limits

- Only public posts and public engagement are read.
- Seniority is inferred from the headline text, not from a verified title field.
- A lead is excluded when the company name or URL slug matches an entry in `exclude_companies`.
- Comment and reaction counts reflect what was readable on the scanned posts.

### Automation

Run from the Apify API, schedules, or webhooks. Download the same dataset as JSON, CSV, or Excel.

### Feedback and support

Use the Actor's Issues tab for reproducible problems. Include the affected profile or post URLs, but do not include credentials.

### FAQ

**How much does it cost to run this Actor?**
Pricing is listed in the Pricing section above, charged per row returned. You only pay for the rows
the Actor actually produces, so a small test run costs cents.

**Do I need cookies or a LinkedIn login?**
No. This Actor reads public data only - no cookies, no account, no browser automation.

**Can I schedule it?**
Yes. Run it from the Apify API, on a schedule, or via a webhook, and export results as JSON, CSV or Excel.

**What if I need a slightly different output?**
Open an issue on the Actor's Issues tab describing the shape you need.
