# LinkedIn Engagement Audience Builder (`data-slayer/linkedin-engagement-audience-builder`) Actor

Build one ranked warm audience from many LinkedIn sources. Enter several competitor or creator profile URLs; the Actor scans all their posts, extracts everyone who engaged, deduplicates the people, and ranks them by engagement frequency. No cookies, no login.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## LinkedIn Engagement Audience Builder

Build one ranked warm audience from many LinkedIn sources — not just one profile's posts.

### Watch the demo

YouTube video coming soon.

### What this Actor does

Give it two or more competitor, creator, or thought-leader profile URLs. The Actor scans all of their recent posts, extracts everyone who reacted or commented across every post, merges the duplicates into one person, and ranks people by **total engagement frequency**.

The result is the warmest audience in a whole niche, in one list: the people who keep showing up across multiple voices.

It uses public data only, requires no cookies and no login, and returns each person once with all their engagement rolled in.

### Input

| Field | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `profile_urls` | string\[] | Yes | Two or more source profile URLs whose posts define the audience |
| `max_posts` | integer | No | Hard cap on posts scanned per source, 1–30 (default `10`) |
| `include_reactions` | boolean | No | Count reactors (default `true`) |
| `include_commenters` | boolean | No | Count commenters (default `true`) |

Example:

```json
{
  "profile_urls": [
    "https://www.linkedin.com/in/example-creator-1",
    "https://www.linkedin.com/in/example-creator-2"
  ],
  "max_posts": 10,
  "include_reactions": true,
  "include_commenters": true
}
```

### How to use it

1. Paste the profile URLs whose audiences overlap with your market.
2. Set `max_posts` to control cost and run time.
3. Click **Start**.
4. Work the list from the top — the people with the highest `engagementCount` are the warmest.

### Output

One row per person, ranked by engagement frequency:

```json
{
  "schemaVersion": "1.0",
  "checkedAt": "2026-09-25T10:00:00+00:00",
  "profileUrl": "https://www.linkedin.com/in/example",
  "fullName": "Example Person",
  "headline": "VP Marketing",
  "companyName": "Globex",
  "companyUrl": "https://www.linkedin.com/company/globex",
  "engagementCount": 9,
  "commentCount": 4,
  "reactionCount": 5,
  "uniquePostsEngaged": 6,
  "sourcesEngaged": 2,
  "postsEngagedWith": ["https://www.linkedin.com/posts/..."],
  "collectedAt": "2026-09-25T10:00:00+00:00"
}
```

The `OUTPUT` key-value-store record reports sources, posts scanned, engagement events, unique people, and rows written.

### Pricing

| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| Actor start | $0.02 |
| Audience row | $0.015 |

You pay per deduplicated person returned. A run across 5 sources at 10 posts each typically yields 200–800 people.

### Common uses

- **Warm audience** — reach the people already engaging with your category's voices.
- **Community mapping** — see who bridges multiple creators in a niche.
- **Influencer targeting** — find the most active amplifiers.
- **Event and launch outreach** — build a warm list from a set of speakers' posts.

### Limits

- Only public posts and public engagement are read.
- People are deduplicated by profile URL; a person who engaged under two profiles counts twice.
- `engagementCount` counts engagement events, so one person commenting on three posts counts three times.
- A source with no public posts contributes nothing.

### Automation

Run from the Apify API, schedules, or webhooks. Download the same dataset as JSON, CSV, or Excel.

### Feedback and support

Use the Actor's Issues tab for reproducible problems. Include the affected profile URLs, but do not include credentials.

### FAQ

**How much does it cost to run this Actor?**
Pricing is listed in the Pricing section above, charged per row returned. You only pay for the rows
the Actor actually produces, so a small test run costs cents.

**Do I need cookies or a LinkedIn login?**
No. This Actor reads public data only - no cookies, no account, no browser automation.

**Can I schedule it?**
Yes. Run it from the Apify API, on a schedule, or via a webhook, and export results as JSON, CSV or Excel.

**What if I need a slightly different output?**
Open an issue on the Actor's Issues tab describing the shape you need.
