## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

**WorkIndia Jobs Scraper** returns **jobs from [WorkIndia](https://www.workindia.in)**, India's job app for delivery, sales, telecalling, back-office, driver, helper and other entry-level roles, as JSON, CSV or Excel: job title, employer, city, locality, PIN code, **monthly salary range**, education, gender preference, work arrangement, category, skills, posting and expiry dates and the full description. Filter by city, title keyword, category, salary and posting date; an **only-new mode** turns it into a daily feed. **$0.80 per 1,000 jobs**, no login, no proxy. Phone numbers are not collected.

### What can you do with WorkIndia job data?

| Who | What they get | Typical run |
|---|---|---|
| Staffing and recruitment agencies | Every new delivery, sales or telecaller opening in their cities, each morning | `cities` + `onlyNewSinceLastRun` |
| Job aggregators and alert apps | The whole current WorkIndia board (~15,000 jobs) with salaries | `maxResults: 0`, daily |
| Labour-market analysts | Entry-level salary ranges by city and category | export to Sheets / BigQuery |
| Sales teams | Companies hiring field sales and delivery staff right now (hiring = budget) | `keywords: ["sales"]` |

### How to scrape WorkIndia jobs

1. Open the **Input** tab, add one or more `cities` (or leave empty for all of India) and, if you like, title `keywords`.
2. Click **Start**. Jobs appear in the **Output** tab; download them as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML, or read them through the API.
3. For a daily feed, turn on **Only new jobs since the last run** and add a schedule.

An empty input `{}` returns the 50 most recently created jobs on WorkIndia (reposted older jobs keep their original id; use `postedWithinDays` to filter by posting date).

### Input

### How much does it cost to scrape WorkIndia?

**$0.80 per 1,000 jobs** plus $0.001 per run, on Apify's pay-per-event pricing (SILVER $0.68, GOLD and above $0.56 per 1,000). The default run (50 jobs) costs about $0.04; the whole current board (~15,000 jobs) about $12 and takes about an hour (the default timeout is 2 hours). Jobs left out by the city, keyword, category, salary or date filters, by only-new mode or by `skipIds` are never charged.

### Tips

- **Cheapest filters first:** `cities` and `keywords` are checked on the job URL, so non-matching jobs are not even opened. `categories`, `minSalary` and `postedWithinDays` need the job page (still not charged when they don't match).
- **Daily feed:** WorkIndia refreshes its list of current jobs once a day; one scheduled run per day with only-new mode catches every new job.
- **Gender preference** and **work arrangement** are copied as the employer wrote them; they are not normalised. Titles and some states are shown as WorkIndia publishes them (the site cuts long titles with "...").

### FAQ

**Is there a WorkIndia API?** Not a public one. WorkIndia publishes its current jobs in a sitemap for search engines, and every job page carries structured JobPosting data; this Actor reads both and returns clean JSON through Apify's API.

**Does it include phone numbers or HR contacts?** No. The row is the job and the employer's business name and address.

**How many jobs does WorkIndia have?** About 15,000 current jobs are listed at any time (October 2026), most in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad and Chennai.

**Is it legal to scrape WorkIndia?** The Actor reads publicly shown job pages without logging in. You are responsible for how you use the data and for compliance with the site's terms and India's data-protection law.
