## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Web Search Scraper

Run a real-time Google search and return organic results with position, rank, title, URL, snippet, source, domain, and displayed link. Supports Google advanced operators (site:, inurl:, intitle:). Fetch 1-10 pages of results in a single call: each page is 10 results and every page is merged into one results array. Supports country, language, time window, city-level location, and device targeting. Set include_ai_overview=true to include Google's AI Overview when one is available for the query.

### Features

- Real-time Google data — results are fetched live at run time, never cached or stale
- No login, cookies, or proxy configuration needed — just provide the input and run
- Each result is pushed as a separate dataset item, exportable as JSON, CSV, or Excel
- Fast: a typical run finishes in seconds

### Input

| Field | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `query` | string | yes | Search keyword (max 500 characters, measured after leading and trailing whitespace is trimmed). Supports Google advanced operators (site:, inurl:, intitle:, etc.) |
| `pages` | integer | no | Number of result pages to fetch and merge (10 results per page). This is a count, not a page number: pages=3 returns the first 30 results in a single results array. Values above 10 are rejected with 400; values below 1 are treated as 1. |
| `country` | string | no | 2-letter ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code. A value that is not exactly 2 letters is rejected with 400. |
| `language` | string | no | 2-letter ISO 639-1 language code. A value that is not exactly 2 letters is rejected with 400. |
| `time` | string | no | Time filter for results One of: any, hour, day, week, month, year. |
| `location` | string | no | City-level geo location (e.g. London,England,United Kingdom) |
| `device` | string | no | Device type to simulate One of: desktop, mobile. |
| `include_ai_overview` | boolean | no | When true, include Google's AI Overview for the query. Only the exact value true (case-insensitive) enables it. When enabled, the response always contains an ai_overview field, which is null if Google generated no overview for the query. |

### Pricing

This Actor is billed **per page of results** — **$0.004 per page**.

- Results come in pages. Use the `pages` input to choose how many pages to fetch (1–10); more pages means more results.
- You pay $0.004 for each page you fetch, so `pages: 3` costs **$0.012** and `pages: 1` costs **$0.004**.
- You’re only charged when a run succeeds, or when it fails because what you asked for was looked up and doesn’t exist, is private, or isn’t valid: that costs one page ($0.004). Other failed runs are free.
