## SEC EDGAR Filing Search

Search the full text of every SEC EDGAR filing ever submitted -- annual reports (10-K), quarterly reports (10-Q), current reports (8-K), registration statements (S-1), proxy statements (DEF 14A), insider trading disclosures (Form 4), beneficial ownership filings, and dozens more.

### What data does it return?

For each filing, the actor returns:

- **Company name** and **ticker symbol**
- **CIK** (Central Index Key) number
- **Filing type** (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, S-1, etc.)
- **Date filed** and **period ending**
- **Description** of the document
- **Accession number**
- **Direct URLs** to the filing document and EDGAR filing index
- **SIC code** and **business location**
- **Items** disclosed (for 8-K filings)

### How it works

The actor queries the SEC EDGAR Full-Text Search System (EFTS), an Elasticsearch-based index maintained by the SEC that covers every filing submitted since approximately 1993. No API key is needed. Results are deduplicated by accession number so you get one row per filing.

### Rate limits

The SEC requires a User-Agent header and limits requests to 10 per second. This actor respects those limits with a 100ms delay between API calls.
