## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Walmart Product Scraper

Look up any Walmart product by **ID or URL** and export **title, price, rating, images, brand, seller, specifications, and fulfillment**. One dataset row per product — ready for CSV, Excel, or JSON.

Built for Apify Console, API, MCP agents, and integrations (Make, Zapier, n8n). This Actor reads product-detail pages. It does not search Walmart or pull full review threads.

### What you get

| Field | Example |
| --- | --- |
| `title` | onn Protective Gel Phone Case for iPhone |
| `productId` | 6454202696 |
| `url` | https://www.walmart.com/ip/6454202696 |
| `price` | 5.97 |
| `currency` | USD |
| `rating` | 4.4 |
| `reviewsCount` | 1052 |
| `sellerName` | Walmart.com |
| `imageUrl` | https://i5.walmartimages.com/seo/…jpeg |

Each input is **one product**. That is not the same product as a search scraper, which returns many listings per keyword.

#### Sample output

Live row from product ID `6454202696` (walmart.com):

```json
{
  "input": "6454202696",
  "type": "product",
  "productId": "6454202696",
  "url": "https://www.walmart.com/ip/onn-Protective-Gel-Phone-Case-for-iPhone-16e-iPhone-15-iPhone-14-iPhone-13-Black/6454202696",
  "title": "onn Protective Gel Phone Case for iPhone 17e / iPhone 16e / iPhone 15 / iPhone 14 / iPhone 13 - Black",
  "brand": "onn",
  "price": 5.97,
  "currency": "USD",
  "rating": 4.4,
  "reviewsCount": 1052,
  "sellerName": "Walmart.com",
  "gtin": "194346245321",
  "imageUrl": "https://i5.walmartimages.com/seo/onn-Protective-Gel-Phone-Case-for-iPhone-16e-iPhone-15-iPhone-14-iPhone-13-Black_d0e5e5ba-714e-4fc6-b240-c40c754fd7a2.52d3954e684cc9359bd89b6f861b7453.jpeg?odnHeight=573&odnWidth=573&odnBg=FFFFFF",
  "pickup": true,
  "delivery": true,
  "shipping": true,
  "freeShipping": false,
  "isOutOfStock": false,
  "domain": "com"
}
```

### How to run

1. Open the Actor in Apify Console.
2. Paste product IDs or `walmart.*/ip/…` URLs, one per line.
3. Optional: marketplace, deliver-to ZIP, max results.
4. Click **Start**. Open the **Output** tab when the run finishes.

#### Example input

```json
{
  "productIds": [
    "6454202696",
    "https://www.walmart.com/ip/6454202696"
  ],
  "domain": "com",
  "maxResults": 10
}
```

Duplicate IDs (including the same product as ID and URL) are fetched once.

#### API

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/datacortex~walmart-product-scraper/runs?token=YOUR_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"productIds":["6454202696"],"domain":"com"}'
```

Replace `YOUR_TOKEN` with an Apify API token.

### Use with MCP / agents

This is a normal Apify Actor. Agents call it through [Apify MCP](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp) — you do not run a separate MCP process.

Pin this Actor as a tool (after it is public):

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "apify": {
      "url": "https://mcp.apify.com?tools=datacortex/walmart-product-scraper"
    }
  }
}
```

The agent should `fetch-actor-details` on `datacortex/walmart-product-scraper`, then run it with the same JSON as **Example input** above. Running Actors requires an Apify token (OAuth in the client, or `Authorization: Bearer <APIFY_TOKEN>`).

### Pricing

**$5.00 per 1,000 products** + $0.001 per run.

Each input is one lookup and one dataset row. That is not the same product as a search scraper ($0.50 / 1,000), which returns many rows per query.

| Event | When it fires | Price |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `apify-actor-start` | Once when the run starts | **$0.001** |
| `apify-default-dataset-item` | Once per dataset row (one product) | **$0.005** ($5.00 / 1,000) |

| Job | Rows | You pay |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 1 product | 1 | $0.001 + $0.005 = **$0.006** |
| 10 products | 10 | $0.001 + $0.050 = **$0.051** |
| 100 products | 100 | $0.001 + $0.500 = **$0.501** |
| 1,000 products | 1,000 | $0.001 + $5.000 = **$5.001** |

Set a **max total charge per run** so a long list cannot overrun budget. The Actor stops when that limit is reached.

### Input reference

| Field | Required | Default | Notes |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `productIds` | yes | — | IDs or URLs, max 1,000, duplicates skipped |
| `domain` | no | `com` | `com`, `ca`, `com.mx`, `co.cr` |
| `maxResults` | no | all | Hard cap across the list |
| `deliveryZip` | no | — | ZIP / postal code, e.g. `10001` |

### Limitations

- Product-detail pages only. This Actor does **not** search Walmart or download full review threads.
- Prices and fulfillment flags are what Walmart showed for the chosen marketplace / ZIP.
- Unavailable or unparseable listings return an `error` row.
- Failed lookups write one `type: "error"` row so you can see which ID failed.

### Local development

```bash
python3 -m venv .venv && source .venv/bin/activate
pip install -r requirements.txt
cp .env.example .env
apify run --input-file=apify_input.json --purge
```

### Changelog
