## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## France Road Transport Companies: Hauliers, Coaches, Forwarders

Get **every licensed road transport company in France** from the official national registers kept by the Ministry of Transport (DREAL):

- **Goods hauliers** (transport routier de marchandises): about 59,000 establishments
- **Passenger carriers**: coach, bus, taxi and shuttle operators (transport routier de voyageurs): about 12,000 establishments
- **Freight forwarders** (commissionnaires de transport): about 20,000 establishments

The registers are updated by the administration every Monday and Thursday. Each run downloads the latest official files, so you always get fresh data.

### Who uses it

- **Truck, van and coach dealers, leasing and rental companies**: find carriers by fleet size and region.
- **Fuel cards, telematics, tyres, insurance, factoring, driver training**: build lead lists of hauliers with 5, 20 or 100+ vehicles.
- **Shippers and freight platforms**: check that a carrier holds a valid licence before booking it (KYC / subcontractor checks).
- **Market studies**: count carriers per department, EU-licensed carriers, last-mile van operators.

### What you get for each establishment

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| companyName, siret, siren, legalForm | COLAS FRANCE, 32933888302290, SAS |
| register | goods / passengers / freight_forwarder |
| city, postalCode, departmentCode, isHeadOffice | SAINT-PRIEST, 69800, 69, false |
| domesticLicenceNumber / ValidFrom / ValidTo / Copies | French domestic licence (LTI) |
| communityLicenceNumber / ValidFrom / ValidTo / Copies | EU community licence (LC) |
| lightVanCommunityCopies | EU copies for vans up to 3.5 t |

| nextLicenceExpiry, firstLicenceValidFrom | licence dates |
| companyProfileUrl | official page on annuaire-entreprises.data.gouv.fr |

Licence copies are a company-wide figure, repeated on each establishment of the same company. Use **One row per company** to get one line per SIREN.

## `nameContains` (type: `string`):

Case- and accent-insensitive, e.g. transports or geodis.

## `departments` (type: `array`):

Department codes of the establishment, e.g. 75, 69, 2A, 974.

## `postalCodePrefixes` (type: `array`):

e.g. 690 or 13127.

e.g. 5 to target small fleets.

## `onlyCommunityLicence` (type: `boolean`):

Carriers allowed to work internationally in the EU.

## `licenceExpiresBefore` (type: `string`):

YYYY-MM-DD. Keeps companies with a licence ending before this date.

## `headOfficesOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Skip secondary establishments.

## `includePublicBodies` (type: `boolean`):

Municipalities, inter-municipal unions and public companies running their own transport.

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

Remembers what earlier runs delivered and only returns new establishments or changed licences (copies, dates). Schedule it weekly for fresh leads. The register is updated on Mondays and Thursdays.

## `stateStoreName` (type: `string`):

Use a different name for each saved search in alert mode.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of companies delivered (and charged). 0 means no limit. Results are sorted by fleet size, largest first.
