## Pricing

from $0.96 / 1,000 jobs

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Canada Jobs Scraper: Job Bank (jobbank.gc.ca)

Scrape **jobs in Canada** from the federal **Job Bank** (jobbank.gc.ca). Every job comes with **title, employer, salary text, city/province, posting date and URL**. Optional detail enrichment adds **NOC code, employment type, postal code and structured salary**. No login, no proxies. **$1.20 per 1,000 jobs.**

### Sources and coverage

| Source | Coverage | Data |
|---|---|---|
| **Job Bank (jobbank.gc.ca)** | Federal Canadian job board, all provinces and territories | title, employer, salary, location, date; optional NOC / employment type from the detail page |

### How to use it

1. Click **Try for free**: the prefilled input runs a quick test (≈20 jobs).
2. Set keywords and optional cities/provinces (e.g. Toronto, "Vancouver, BC").
3. Optionally enable **Fetch detail pages** for NOC and structured salary.
4. Export from the Output tab or via API.

### Input examples

**Software developers in Toronto (default):**

```json
{"keywords": ["software developer"], "locations": ["Toronto"], "maxJobsPerSearch": 20}
```

**Nurses in British Columbia with details:**

```json
{"keywords": ["nurse"], "locations": ["British Columbia"], "fetchDetails": true, "maxJobsPerSearch": 30}
```

**Daily alert:**

```json
{"keywords": ["electrician"], "locations": ["Calgary"], "onlyNewJobs": true, "alertsKey": "ab-electricians"}
```

### Pricing

**$0.005** per run start (when results exist) + **$0.0012** per job ($1.20 / 1,000).

### Limitations

- Job Bank asks for a **5-second crawl delay**; the Actor respects it, so large scrapes take longer.
- Detail enrichment doubles request volume; leave it off for fast list-only runs.
- Posted dates on the list page are calendar text (not always ISO).

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Job titles or keywords, e.g. software developer, nurse, electrician, truck driver. Empty = broad search.

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Canadian cities or provinces, e.g. Toronto, Vancouver, "Calgary, AB", Ontario. Empty = all of Canada.

## `fetchDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Open each job posting for NOC code, employment type, postal code and structured salary. Slower (respects crawl-delay).

## `maxJobsPerSearch` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many jobs for each keyword and location.

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Only used when postedAt is ISO; list-page dates are text. Prefer 0.

## `onlyNewJobs` (type: `boolean`):

Return only jobs not seen in previous runs. Schedule daily for alerts.

## `alertsKey` (type: `string`):

Name for this alert's memory (e.g. toronto-devs).
