## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Shopify App Store Scraper (Apps, Pricing & Reviews)

Get structured data from the Shopify App Store in two modes:

- **App details:** rating, review count, every pricing plan with price and features, developer, categories, languages, integrations, launch date and the "Built for Shopify" badge.
- **Reviews:** every merchant review with star rating, date, text, store name, store country and how long the merchant used the app.

Paste app links, or whole category links to cover every app in a category.

### What you can use it for

- **App market research:** compare ratings, review counts and pricing across a whole category before building or buying an app.
- **Competitor tracking:** schedule weekly runs to watch competitors' pricing plans and review growth.
- **Review analysis:** collect reviews to find what merchants love or complain about, and feed them to an AI model for summaries.
- **Lead research for app partners:** see which kinds of stores use which apps (store names are public on review pages).

### Input

- **Apps:** links like `https://apps.shopify.com/judgeme`, or just the handle `judgeme`.
- **Categories:** links like `https://apps.shopify.com/categories/marketing-and-conversion-social-trust-product-reviews`, with a maximum number of apps per category.
- **What to collect:** App details or Reviews (newest first, with a maximum per app).

### Pricing

**$2.00 per 1,000 rows** (one app or one review per row), plus a tiny per-run start fee. Set a spending limit for each run; the run stops cleanly when it is reached.

### How it works and limits

The Actor reads the public Shopify App Store pages that any visitor can open, at a gentle pace. It does not log in or use any account. Developer replies to reviews are not included. App handles that don't exist are skipped with a note in the log, and you are not charged for them.
