## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Bluesky Scraper: Profiles, Posts, Followers & Search

An all-in-one Bluesky scraper built on Bluesky's **official, open AT Protocol API**. It's fast, reliable and needs **no login** for almost everything.

### What it gets

| Paste this | You get |
|---|---|
| A handle (`@name.bsky.social` or just `name`) or profile link | Profile details, latest posts, optionally replies, reposts, followers and following |
| A post link | The post and its reply thread, optionally who liked and reposted it |
| A custom feed link (`bsky.app/profile/…/feed/…`) | The feed's posts |
| **Search people** | Profiles matching a name or bio keyword |
| **Search posts** | Keyword search across all of Bluesky, sorted by latest or top (requires your own free app password; see below) |

Every post includes text, timestamps, like, repost, reply and quote counts, languages, hashtags, mentions, links, images (with alt text), video, link previews, quoted posts and moderation labels.

### Who uses this

- **Brand and social listening:** track mentions and topics as conversation moves to Bluesky.
- **Researchers and journalists:** collect public posts and threads around events.
- **Growth and lead generation:** find people by bio keywords, and export followers of relevant accounts.
- **AI pipelines:** clean, structured social data for analysis and RAG.

### Input example

```json
{
  "targets": ["bsky.app", "https://bsky.app/profile/bsky.app/post/3l6oveex3ii2l"],
  "maxPostsPerSource": 100,
  "postedAfter": "2026-10-01",
  "includeFollowers": true,
  "maxAccountsPerList": 1000,
  "userSearchQueries": ["data engineer"]
}
```

### Post search needs a free app password

Bluesky only allows keyword post search for logged-in users. To use it:

1. In Bluesky, go to **Settings → Privacy and security → App passwords** and create one.
2. Enter your handle and that app password in the input. It's stored encrypted, used only to sign in to Bluesky for your run, and can be revoked anytime. **Never use your main password.**

Everything else works without a login.

### Use it from Zapier, Make, n8n, Google Sheets or your own code

- **No-code:** connect this actor in **Zapier, Make or n8n** (search for "Apify"), or send results straight to **Google Sheets, Slack or email** from the actor's **Integrations** tab.
- **Schedule it:** set it to run daily or weekly from **Schedules** in Apify Console.
- **API:** every run is available through the Apify API. See the **API** tab on this page for ready-to-copy examples in Python, JavaScript and cURL.
- **AI agents:** use it from Claude, Cursor and other AI tools through the **Apify MCP server**.

### Pricing

| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| Profile or post | **$0.001** ($1 per 1,000) |
| Account in a followers, following, likers or reposters list | **$0.0005** ($0.50 per 1,000) |

Duplicates within a run and inputs that fail (for example, a handle that doesn't exist) are never charged. Failed inputs are listed in the run's `FAILURES` record.

### Good to know

- The scraper respects Bluesky's rate limits. On very large runs it may pause briefly when Bluesky asks it to slow down.
- Only public data is collected. Blocked or deleted posts in a thread are skipped.
