## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## App Store & Google Play Reviews Scraper + App Details

**Scrape reviews and app details from both the Apple App Store and Google Play in one run.** Paste app URLs, IDs, or just app **names**. Collect reviews from several countries, filter by star rating and date, and get developer replies. Everything comes back in **one clean format**, ready for sentiment analysis, ASO, competitor research or feeding an LLM.

- ✅ **Both stores, one schema**: `store: "apple" | "google"`, same fields for both.
- ✅ **Any input**: Play Store URL or package name, App Store URL or numeric ID, or an app name (searched automatically).
- ✅ **Many countries per run** (`us`, `gb`, `de`, `in`, `br`...).
- ✅ **Filters**: min/max stars (e.g. only 1–2★ complaints) and "reviews since" date.
- ✅ **App details included**: rating, ratings count, histogram, installs, version, price, genre, developer, description.
- ✅ **Privacy-friendly by default**: reviewer names are left out unless you turn them on.
- 💲 **$0.25 per 1,000 reviews**, and $0.002 per app details record.

### Use cases

- **Product and UX teams**: find the top complaints after each release (filter to 1–2★ since the release date).
- **Competitor research**: compare ratings, feature requests and pain points across competing apps and countries.
- **ASO (App Store Optimization)**: mine the words users actually use and track ratings over time.
- **AI and analytics**: feed thousands of reviews to an LLM for sentiment, topics and summaries.
- **Agencies**: monitor client apps' reviews weekly with a schedule.

### Input example

```json
{
    "apps": [
        "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spotify.music",
        "https://apps.apple.com/us/app/spotify-music-and-podcasts/id324684580",
        "Duolingo"
    ],
    "countries": ["us", "gb"],
    "maxReviewsPerApp": 500,
    "maxRating": 2,
    "reviewsSince": "2026-09-01"
}
```

### Output

**Review** (`type: "review"`):

```json
{
    "type": "review",
    "appId": "324684580",
    "appTitle": "Spotify: Music and Podcasts",
    "store": "apple",
    "reviewId": "14599714132",
    "rating": 5,
    "title": "Love this app",
    "text": "If you spend the extra money on the premium this app is good...",
    "date": "2026-09-27T14:17:41.000Z",
    "appVersion": "9.1.86",
    "thumbsUp": 0,
    "replyText": null,
    "replyDate": null,
    "url": "https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id324684580?see-all=reviews",
    "country": "us",
    "language": null,
    "scrapedAt": "2026-09-28T22:23:58.335Z"
}
```

**App details** (`type: "app"`, one per app and country): `title`, `developer`, `rating`, `ratingsCount`, `histogram` (Google Play), `installs` (Google Play), `price`, `genre`, `version`, `updatedAt`, `description`, `icon`, `url` and more.

Use the `type` field to split reviews from app records, or turn off *Include app details* to get reviews only.

### Limits to know

- **Apple App Store**: Apple's public review feed gives up to about **500 of the most recent reviews per country**. Add more countries to get more reviews.
- **Google Play**: no practical limit. Tens of thousands of reviews per app are fine.

### Pricing

- **$0.00025 per review ($0.25 per 1,000)**
- **$0.002 per app details record**

Filters run before billing: reviews you filter out are free. Set a *maximum cost per run* and the Actor stops cleanly when it's reached.
