## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Events Scraper: Eventbrite + Meetup by Keyword and City

**Find upcoming events on Eventbrite and Meetup in one run.** Search by keyword and city (or online) and filter by date. Every event comes back in the same clean format: title, start and end time, venue, full address, coordinates, organizer, RSVP count, description, image and ticket link.

- ✅ **Two platforms, one schema**: Eventbrite and Meetup side by side.
- ✅ **Any city worldwide**: "San Francisco, CA", "London, UK", "Berlin, Germany", or "online".
- ✅ **Date filters**: today, tomorrow, this week, this weekend, next week, this month.
- ✅ **Location data**: venue name, address, city, region, country, latitude/longitude.
- ✅ **Engagement**: Meetup RSVP counts and group names.
- ✅ **Monitor mode**: get only newly listed events on each scheduled run.
- 💲 **$2 per 1,000 events.**

### Use cases

- **Event discovery apps and newsletters**: "What's on this weekend" feeds for any city or topic.
- **Sales and partnerships**: find conferences, meetups and organizers in your industry to sponsor, speak at or attend.
- **Community and developer relations**: track every AI, crypto or startup meetup in your target cities.
- **Market research**: event volume and themes by city over time.

### Input example

```json
{
    "keywords": ["ai", "startup"],
    "locations": ["San Francisco, CA", "London, UK", "online"],
    "sources": ["eventbrite", "meetup"],
    "dateRange": "this-week",
    "maxEventsPerSearch": 100
}
```

The Actor runs one search per keyword × location × platform and de-duplicates the results.

### Output example

```json
{
    "source": "eventbrite",
    "eventId": "2000526458490",
    "title": "Travel with AI",
    "searchKeyword": "ai",
    "searchLocation": "San Francisco, CA"
}
```

Meetup events also include `organizer` (group name), `attendees` (RSVPs) and `isFree`.

### Pricing

**$0.002 per event ($2 per 1,000).** Duplicates across searches are removed before billing.

### Notes

- Eventbrite start/end times are local to the event (see `timezone`). Meetup times include the UTC offset.
- Meetup returns up to about 50 events per search. Use more specific keywords or several searches to cover more.
