## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Podcast Email Finder — host contacts from Apple Podcasts

Find podcasts in any niche and get the **owner's email address straight from the podcast's RSS feed** — the contact podcasters register with Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Add host name, website, categories, episode count and last-episode date to build a clean outreach list in minutes.

**$2 per 1,000 podcasts + $0.02 per podcast with an email.** No login, no API key.

### Why it works so well

Every podcast distributed to Apple Podcasts has an RSS feed, and most feeds include an `itunes:owner` email. That's a real, maintained contact — not a guessed address. In our test on the keyword *"marketing"*, **17 of 20 podcasts had an owner email**.

### Use cases

- 🎙️ **Guest booking** — pitch yourself or your clients as a guest on relevant shows.
- 💸 **Sponsorships & ads** — reach shows in your niche that are *active* right now.
- 📣 **PR & launches** — build media lists by topic and country.
- 📊 **Research** — map a podcast niche: activity, episode counts, languages, categories.

### How to use

1. Enter **keywords** (e.g. *marketing*, *SaaS*, *fitness*) and/or **Apple Podcasts URLs / RSS feeds**.
2. Pick Apple **stores** (US, GB, CA, AU, DE… each returns up to 200 shows per keyword).
3. Filter: **active within N days**, **min episodes**, **languages**, **only with email**.
4. Run and export to CSV/Excel/JSON, Google Sheets, HubSpot, Make, Zapier or n8n.

#### Input example

```json
{
  "searchQueries": ["marketing", "startup"],
  "countries": ["US", "GB"],
  "maxPodcastsPerQuery": 200,
  "activeWithinDays": 60,
  "minEpisodes": 20,
  "onlyWithEmail": true
}
```

#### Output example

  "author": "Michael Stelzner, Social Media Examiner",

  "isComplete": false
}
```
### Pricing
Pay-per-result, platform usage included:
| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| Podcast saved (all details) | **$0.002** |
| Extra when an email is found | **$0.02** |
With *Only podcasts with an email* on, you pay **$0.022 per contact**. Cap any run with *Max total charge*.
### FAQ
**Where do the emails come from?** From the podcast's public RSS feed (`itunes:owner` / description), and — if you enable it — the podcast website's homepage and contact pages. Each email shows its source.
**Why do some podcasts have no email?** A few hosting providers hide the owner email in the public feed. Turn on *Only podcasts with an email* to skip them.
**How many podcasts per keyword?** Apple's directory returns up to 200 shows per keyword per country store. Add more stores or related keywords for bigger lists.
**Is it legal?** It uses public directory data and public RSS feeds that podcasters publish for distribution. Follow GDPR, CAN-SPAM and local rules when contacting people — send relevant, personal pitches with an opt-out.
