## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Government Tenders & Contract Notices (UK, AU, CA)

**Government Tenders Scraper** collects public tenders and contract notices from the UK (Contracts Finder and Find a Tender), Australia (AusTender) and Canada (CanadaBuys) in one clean format: title, buyer, value, deadline, CPV/UNSPSC codes, description and link. Filter by keyword, date, notice type and value.

### What can this tool do?

- Find new government contract opportunities in three countries with one search.
- Filter by keywords (for example "software", "cleaning", "construction"), publication date, notice type and minimum value.
- Monitor tenders daily or weekly with a schedule and send them to Google Sheets, Slack or your CRM.
- Research awarded contracts: who buys what, for how much, in the UK and Australia.
- Get the same fields from every source, ready for spreadsheets and databases.

### What data does it return?

One row per notice:

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| `source` / `country` | uk-find-a-tender / GB |
| `noticeType` / `noticeStage` | tender / tender (also award, planning, other) |
| `noticeId` / `reference` | 090352-2026 / HAC6145 |
| `title` | HAC6145 Antill Road Day Activities |
| `buyer` | London Borough of … |
| `buyerEmail` | procurement@… (role-based mailboxes only) |
| `value` / `currency` | 667590 / GBP |
| `publishedDate` / `deadline` | 2026-09-23T… / 2026-10-23T11:00:00.000Z |
| `category` | services (goods, works) |
| `categoryScheme` / `categoryCodes` / `categoryDescription` | CPV / 85000000 / Health and social work services |
| `procurementMethod` | Open procedure |
| `status` | active |
| `description` | The Council will seek an innovative … |
| `url` | https://www.find-tender.service.gov.uk/Notice/090352-2026 |

The example is a real notice from a run on 2026-09-28. In a 30-day test the tool returned 15,346 notices from the four sources; 10 sampled notices matched the official pages field by field.

### How to use it

1. Pick the countries and enter keywords (or leave keywords empty for all notices).
2. Choose how many days back (default 3) or set exact dates, and the notice types.
3. Click **Start** and download the notices as CSV, Excel or JSON.

### Pricing

Pay per notice: **$3.00 per 1,000 notices**, plus $0.005 per run. A daily check of UK software tenders is usually a few cents. Set a maximum cost per run in the run options.

### Use it through the API, AI agents, and integrations

Call it from your code with the Apify API, schedule it every morning, or connect it to Make, Zapier, n8n, Google Sheets, Slack, or an AI agent through Apify's MCP server.

### Is it legal?

Yes. All data comes from official open-data services published by the governments for re-use (UK Open Government Licence, AusTender CC BY 3.0 AU, Canada Open Government Licence). The tool outputs organisation-level data only: contact person names and phone numbers are never included, buyer emails are only role mailboxes such as tenders@ or procurement@, and personal emails and phone numbers inside descriptions are masked.

### FAQ

**Why do Australian notices have no deadline?** AusTender's open-data service publishes contract notices (awarded contracts), not open tenders. For Australia you get what was bought, from whom (agency), for how much and when.

**Which Canadian notices are included?** CanadaBuys publishes a daily file of all open tender notices; the tool returns those published in your date range. Closed notices are not in that file.

**Why is the value empty?** Many notices do not publish a value. When you set a minimum value, notices without a value are left out.

**How far back can I search?** Up to 365 days. Large ranges without keywords can return tens of thousands of UK notices; use keywords or "Maximum notices" to keep runs small.
