## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Jobs Scraper

Scrape job listings from **Google Jobs**: Google's index of postings from LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, ZipRecruiter, company career sites and hundreds of other job boards, all in one search.

**$3 per 1,000 jobs.** You only pay for unique jobs saved; failed searches cost nothing.

### What you get per job

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| `title` | Registered Nurse (RN) - Immediate Care |
| `company` | Advocate Health |
| `location` | Chicago, IL |
| `salary` | 62–69 an hour |
| `employmentType` | Full-time |
| `postedAgo` | 4 days ago |
| `via` | LinkedIn |
| `description` | Full job description text |
| `highlights` | Qualifications / Benefits / Responsibilities bullet lists |
| `applyUrl` | Direct link to the original posting (no Google redirect) |
| `applyOptions` | Every place the job is posted, e.g. `[{source: "Indeed", url}, {source: "Workday", url}]` |
| `googleJobsUrl` | Link to the listing on Google |
| `searchQuery`, `searchLocation`, `scrapedAt` | What produced the row and when |

### How to use

1. Add one or more **queries** (`registered nurse`, `python developer`).
2. Add **locations** (`Chicago, IL`, `Denver, CO`, `remote`). Every query is searched in every location.
3. Set **max results** and run.

#### Getting more jobs

Google shows about 10 jobs per search. To collect more, add:

- **Nearby cities or suburbs** (`Evanston, IL`, `Oak Park, IL`), or
- **Query variations** (`registered nurse`, `RN`, `LPN`, `night shift nurse`).

Duplicates are removed automatically, so overlapping searches are safe.

### Example input

```json
{
  "queries": ["registered nurse", "LPN"],
  "locations": ["Chicago, IL", "Evanston, IL", "remote"],
  "maxResults": 200
}
```

### Use cases

- Job aggregators and niche job boards
- Recruiting and sourcing pipelines
- Labor market and salary research
- Lead generation (companies that are hiring)
- Feeding jobs into AI agents, Google Sheets, Make, Zapier or n8n

### Reliability

Every search is retried up to 5 times on fresh IPs. Run stats (searches OK, failed and empty) are saved to the `STATS` record of each run.

### Notes

This actor collects publicly visible job listings. You're responsible for how you use the data, including compliance with applicable laws.

# Actor input Schema

## `queries` (type: `array`):

What to search for, e.g. "registered nurse", "python developer". Each query is combined with each location.

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Cities, regions or "remote". Google returns about 10 jobs per search, so add more locations (e.g. nearby cities) or query variations to get more unique jobs. Leave empty to search queries as-is.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many unique jobs (0 = no limit).

## `countryCode` (type: `string`):

Two-letter country code Google should search from, e.g. us, gb, ca, in, de.

## `languageCode` (type: `string`):

Interface language, e.g. en, de, fr.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Turn off for smaller output.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "queries": [
    "software engineer"
  ],
  "locations": [
    "Austin, TX"
  ],
  "maxResults": 100,
  "countryCode": "us",
  "languageCode": "en",
  "includeDescription": true
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `jobs` (type: `string`):

Scraped job listings.

## `stats` (type: `string`):

Searches succeeded, failed and empty.

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "queries": [
        "software engineer"
    ],
    "locations": [
    ]
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("datalift/google-jobs-scraper").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
