## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Career Site Jobs Scraper — Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, Recruitee, SmartRecruiters

Get **every open job directly from company career sites** — the source of truth that LinkedIn and Indeed copy from. Paste a list of companies (domain, name or careers URL) and get clean, normalized job data in seconds: title, department, location, remote flag, **salary range**, employment type, posting date, apply link and the full description.

**No login, no cookies, no proxies, no blocking.** The Actor reads the official public job-board feeds of each applicant tracking system (ATS), so runs are fast, cheap and reliable.

### Why use this instead of a LinkedIn / Indeed scraper?

| | This Actor | LinkedIn / Indeed scrapers |
|---|---|---|
| Data source | Company's own ATS (original posting) | Re-posted copies, often stale |
| Blocking / failures | None — official public feeds | Frequent, needs residential proxies |
| Salary ranges | Yes, when the company publishes them (Ashby, Greenhouse pay transparency, Lever, Recruitee) | Rarely |
| Full description | Yes, text or HTML | Often truncated |
| Speed | 700+ jobs from one company in ~2 seconds | Slow pagination |

### Supported platforms

- **Greenhouse** (boards.greenhouse.io, job-boards.greenhouse.io, embedded boards)
- **Lever** (jobs.lever.co, EU instance)
- **Ashby** (jobs.ashbyhq.com) — incl. compensation
- **Workable** (apply.workable.com)
- **Recruitee** (\*.recruitee.com)
- **SmartRecruiters** (jobs.smartrecruiters.com)

Thousands of companies use these: Stripe, Airbnb, Figma, Notion, Ramp, Linear, Palantir, Hugging Face, OpenAI, Anthropic, Databricks, Bosch, Visa and many more.

### Auto-detection — just paste a domain

You don't need to know which ATS a company uses. For each input the Actor:

1. Recognizes career page URLs from any supported platform.
2. For a website (e.g. `notion.so`), scans the homepage and careers pages for ATS links and embeds.
3. For a plain company name (e.g. `Figma`), probes every supported platform with likely board names.

You can also force a platform with `greenhouse:stripe`, `lever:palantir`, `ashby:ramp`, `workable:huggingface`, `recruitee:bunq`, `smartrecruiters:BoschGroup`.

### Use cases

- **Recruiting & staffing agencies** — monitor hiring at target accounts and pitch candidates first.
- **Sales intelligence / lead generation** — hiring is the #1 buying signal. A company hiring "Data Engineers" needs data tools; "SDRs" means they are scaling sales.
- **Job boards & aggregators** — build a niche board (remote, AI, climate, fintech…) from original postings.
- **Market & compensation research** — salary ranges by role, location and company.
- **AI / LLM pipelines** — plain-text descriptions ready for embedding, classification and RAG.
- **Investors** — track headcount growth signals across a portfolio.

### Input example

```json
{
  "companies": ["stripe.com", "Figma", "https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/ramp", "https://jobs.lever.co/palantir"],
  "keywords": ["engineer", "data"],
  "excludeKeywords": ["intern"],
  "locations": ["Remote", "London", "New York"],
  "postedWithinDays": 7,
  "includeDescription": true,
  "descriptionFormat": "text"
}
```

All filters are optional. Tip: schedule the Actor daily with `postedWithinDays: 1` to get a feed of only new jobs.

  "descriptionText": "About Ramp\n\nRamp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams...",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-30T10:00:00.000Z"
}
```
Download results as JSON, CSV, Excel or XML, or connect them to Google Sheets, Zapier, Make, n8n, Slack or your own app via the Apify API.
### Pricing
Pay per result: you only pay for jobs that are saved to the dataset (after your filters are applied). Jobs that don't match your filters are free. Companies that can't be resolved are free.
### FAQ
**A company isn't found — what now?** Paste the exact careers URL (e.g. `https://boards.greenhouse.io/companyname`) or use the `platform:slug` syntax. Companies using Workday, iCIMS, Taleo or in-house career sites are not supported yet.
**Is this legal?** The Actor only reads job postings that companies publish publicly through their ATS's public job-board feeds for the purpose of distribution. It does not collect personal data.
**Can I use it with AI agents?** Yes — call it via the Apify API or MCP server and feed `descriptionText` straight into your LLM.
Found a bug or need another ATS? Open an issue on the Issues tab — feature requests are usually shipped within days.
