## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Luma Events Scraper

Extract **every public event on [Luma](https://luma.com)** (lu.ma / luma.com) in any city, community calendar or keyword search, with dates, venue and GPS, ticket prices, sold-out status, guest counts and **host social profiles** (X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, website).

Most Luma scrapers read the city page, which only shows **~10 featured events**. This Actor scans the full public event feed around each location, so you get **hundreds or thousands of events per city** (for example, 1,400+ upcoming events within 30 km of New York).

### What can you do with it?

- **Find leads for sponsorships, venues and tools.** Who is organizing AI, crypto and startup events in your city, and how to reach them.
- **Monitor a scene.** Turn on *Monitor mode*, schedule a daily run and receive only events published since the last run, straight to Slack, Google Sheets or your CRM.
- **Build event calendars and newsletters** for a city or niche without copying events by hand.
- **Give your AI agent live event data.** Clean, flat JSON, with full descriptions as plain text ready for LLMs.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Cities or places** | Any city name, e.g. `San Francisco`, `London`, `São Paulo`, `Bangalore`. Works outside Luma's featured cities too. |
| **Keyword** | Optional filter, e.g. `AI`, `crypto`, `founders`, `design`. Without cities, searches worldwide. |
| **Luma URLs** | Event pages (`luma.com/abc123`) or calendars/communities (`luma.com/genai-sf`). Calendars return all upcoming events. |
| **Radius (km)** | Distance from each city center. Default 50. |
| **From / To date** | Only events starting in this window. |
| **Max events** | Stop after this many results. |
| **Include full description** | Adds description, categories and ticket tiers (price, capacity, spots left). |
| **Monitor mode** | Returns only events not seen in previous runs with the same input. |

Example input:

```json
{
    "locations": ["San Francisco", "New York"],
    "keyword": "AI",
    "startDate": "2026-11-01",
    "endDate": "2026-11-30",
    "maxEvents": 500,
    "includeDescription": true
}
```

### Pricing

You pay per event returned, with no monthly fee. Pagination and filtered-out events are free. Set a **maximum cost per run** in the run options and the scraper stops on its own when it reaches it.

### Use it from AI agents (MCP)

This Actor works as a tool in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other MCP clients through the [Apify MCP server](https://mcp.apify.com). Ask your agent something like *"list free AI events in Berlin next week with more than 100 guests"*.

### FAQ

**Is it legal?** The scraper only collects public event pages that anyone can see without logging in. It does not collect attendee lists, emails or phone numbers. Use the data in line with Luma's terms and privacy laws such as GDPR.

**Why are some guest counts 0?** Some hosts hide the guest list; Luma then doesn't publish the count.

**How far ahead does it go?** All upcoming public events listed on Luma. Use the date filters to target a window.

**Something broke or you need a field?** Open an issue in the Issues tab and it will be fixed quickly.

# Actor input Schema

## `locations` (type: `array`):

City names (e.g. "San Francisco", "London", "São Paulo"). The scraper scans ALL public events around each place, not just the ~10 featured on the Luma city page.

## `keyword` (type: `string`):

Optional. Only return events matching this keyword (e.g. "AI", "crypto", "founders"). Works with or without cities.

## `eventUrls` (type: `array`):

Optional. Event pages (luma.com/abc123) or calendar/community pages (luma.com/genai-sf). For calendars, all upcoming events are returned.

## `radiusKm` (type: `integer`):

Maximum distance from each city center.

## `startDate` (type: `string`):

Only events starting on or after this date (YYYY-MM-DD).

## `endDate` (type: `string`):

Only events starting on or before this date (YYYY-MM-DD).

## `maxEvents` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of events to return in this run.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Loads each event page for the full description (clean text, ready for LLMs), categories and ticket tiers. Slower.

## `onlyNewEvents` (type: `boolean`):

Return only events not seen in previous runs with the same input. Ideal for a daily schedule that feeds Slack, Sheets or your CRM.
