## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Shopify Store Products Scraper & Price Monitor

Two tools in one:

1. **Scrape any Shopify store.** Get every product with price, original (compare-at) price, discount %, stock, variants (size, color, SKU), images, vendor, tags and dates.
2. **Monitor competitor stores.** Turn on *Monitor mode*, schedule it, and get **only what changed** since the last run: new products, price drops, price increases, restocks, sell-outs, sales started or ended, and removed products.

Works with any public Shopify store (millions of brands: Allbirds, Gymshark, Kylie Cosmetics and others). It uses the store's public product feed, so runs are fast and reliable, with no browser and no proxies.

### Use cases

- **Competitor price tracking** for e-commerce brands and agencies.
- **Restock and drop alerts** for resellers and deal sites. Connect to Slack, Discord, email or Google Sheets.
- **Product research and catalog enrichment.** Full catalogs with variants and images.
- **AI agents.** Clean JSON ready for analysis.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Shopify stores** | Store URLs (`allbirds.com`) or a collection URL (`store.com/collections/sale`). |
| **Monitor mode** | 1st run saves a baseline (no product charges). Next runs return only changes. |
| **Changes to report** | New product, price drop or increase, back in stock, out of stock, sale started or ended, removed. |
| **Keywords** | Filter by title, vendor, type or tags. |
| **Only in-stock / Only on sale** | Quick filters. |
| **Include variants / description** | Extra detail. |
| **Max products** | Per store and in total. |

### Output

```json
{
    "store": "Example Store",
    "storeUrl": "https://www.example.com",
    "productId": 7340901859408,
    "title": "Classic Runner - Navy",
    "url": "https://www.example.com/products/classic-runner-navy",
    "vendor": "Example",
    "productType": "Shoes",
    "tags": ["mens", "running"],
    "price": 79,
    "maxPrice": 89,
    "compareAtPrice": 110,
    "discountPercent": 28,
    "currency": "USD",
    "available": true,
    "variantsCount": 12,
    "variantsAvailable": 9,
    "imageUrl": "https://cdn.shopify.com/...",
    "variants": [{ "variantId": 4123, "title": "9 / Navy", "sku": "CR-NV-9", "price": 79, "compareAtPrice": 110, "available": true }],
    "changeType": ["price_drop", "sale_started"],
    "previousPrice": 110,
    "createdAt": "2026-03-01T10:00:00-05:00",
    "updatedAt": "2026-10-07T08:12:00-04:00"
}
```

`changeType` and `previousPrice` appear in monitor mode.

### Pricing

- **Catalog mode:** pay per product returned.
- **Monitor mode:** pay per change found. Quiet days cost almost nothing, and the baseline run is free of product charges.

Set a maximum cost per run and the Actor stops on its own when it gets there.

### FAQ

**"Not a Shopify store"?** Some stores disable their public product feed or are not on Shopify. Try another store or a collection URL.

**How often should I monitor?** Daily is enough for prices. Hourly works for restock alerts on hyped drops.

**Is it legal?** It only reads public product data that the store publishes for everyone. No login and no personal data.

# Actor input Schema

## `stores` (type: `array`):

Store URLs, one per line (e.g. allbirds.com). You can also paste a collection URL (https://store.com/collections/sale) to scrape only that collection.

## `monitorChanges` (type: `boolean`):

The first run saves a baseline (no results, no product charges). Every next run returns only products that changed since the previous run. Schedule it daily or hourly.

## `reportChanges` (type: `array`):

Which changes to return in monitor mode.

## `keyword` (type: `string`):

Optional. Comma-separated, matches title, vendor, product type and tags.

## `onlyAvailable` (type: `boolean`):

Skip products with no available variant.

## `onlyOnSale` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only products with a compare-at (original) price.

## `includeVariants` (type: `boolean`):

Adds each variant (size, color) with SKU, price and stock.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Adds the product description as plain text.
