## Pricing

from $1.70 / 1,000 dataset items

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

Carrefour UAE product records from the public catalog. One dataset item is one product, such as Lavazza Qualita Rossa coffee capsules, product id 1894274: name, brand, seller, currency, and the product URL. Query with a search phrase, a category id, or a start URL, and choose the country code. Turn on product details when you need the description and category path. Export the default dataset as JSON, CSV, Excel, or XML.

### Dataset at a glance

| | |
|---|---|
| Source | Carrefour UAE catalog |
| One record | One product |
| Deduplicate on | `productId` |
| Main fields | `name`, `brand`, `price`, `currency`, `sellerName`, `url` |
| Query | `searchQueries`, `categoryIds`, `startUrls`, `countryCode` |
| Export | JSON, CSV, Excel, XML |

### Coverage and available records

- Records come from the public search, category, or product URL you pass in.
- `countryCode` selects the Carrefour market. The sample run used UAE.
- `fetchProductDetails` adds description and category path and charges `product-details`.
- A search row can omit `price` when the catalog payload has no numeric amount.
- `maxItems` of `0` does not cap the result set.

### Data dictionary

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `productId` | Catalog product id. Use this to deduplicate. |
| `name` | Product name. |
| `brand` | Brand name. |
| `url` | Public product page. |
| `price` | Current price in `currency`, when the catalog sends one. |
| `originalPrice` | Previous price when a discount is present. |
| `currency` | Currency code, such as AED. |
| `sellerName` | Seller shown on the offer. |
| `stockStatus` | Stock label when the catalog sends one. |
| `isSponsored` | Whether the row was a sponsored placement. |
| `image` | Primary image URL. |
| `ean` | Barcode when product details were fetched. |
| `description` | Description when product details were fetched. |
| `categoryPath` | Category path when product details were fetched. |
| `countryCode` | Market used for the request. |
| `sourceQuery` | Search phrase or URL that produced the row. |

### Example dataset record

```json
{
  "productId": "1894274",
  "name": "Lavazza Qualita Rossa Coffee Capsules 10 Capsules",
  "brand": "Lavazza",
  "url": "https://www.carrefouruae.com/mafuae/en/p/1894274",
  "currency": "AED",
  "sellerName": "Carrefour",
  "countryCode": "AE",
  "sourceQuery": "https://www.carrefouruae.com/mafuae/en/capsules/lavazza-rossa-aluminium-capsules/p/1894274"
}
```

This saved search row had no numeric `price`. Do not treat a missing price as zero.

### Query and input reference

| `proxyConfiguration` | Proxy settings. Apify Residential is required for reliable access. |

### Retrieve the data through the API

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("<APIFY_TOKEN>")
run = client.actor("datascrapers/carrefour-scraper").call(run_input={
    "searchQueries": ["coffee"],
    "countryCode": "AE",
    "maxItems": 10,
})
for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(item["productId"], item["name"], item.get("price"))
```

This is the Apify Actor API, not a Carrefour API.

### Data quality and record handling

- One dataset item is one product. Each pushed product charges one `dataset-item` event.
- Deduplicate on `productId`.
- `fetchProductDetails` charges one `product-details` event when details are fetched.
- Prices stay in the source currency. The Actor does not convert them.
- Sponsored rows are included and marked with `isSponsored`.

### Pricing and cost examples

`dataset-item` and `product-details` are **$2.00 per 1,000** on the free plan. Bronze is $1.90, Silver is $1.80, and Gold is $1.70 per 1,000. Platinum and Diamond use the Gold rate. Platform usage is not billed on top of these events.

| Event | Free | Bronze | Silver | Gold |
|---|---:|---:|---:|---:|
| `dataset-item` per 1,000 | $2.00 | $1.90 | $1.80 | $1.70 |
| `product-details` per 1,000 | $2.00 | $1.90 | $1.80 | $1.70 |

A free-plan run of 1,000 products with details is $4.00 in events.

### Limitations and responsible data use

- Coverage is the public catalog search you request, not every store in every country.
- Prices and stock change. This dataset is not a historical archive.
- You are responsible for complying with the site's terms and applicable law.

### Dataset questions

#### What does one dataset item represent?

One Carrefour product from a search, category, or product URL.

#### Which field should I use as a unique identifier?

Use `productId`.

#### Are fields nullable or conditional?

Yes. `price` can be absent on a search row. Description and category path are present when `fetchProductDetails` is enabled.

#### Can I retrieve the records as CSV or JSON?

Yes. Export the default dataset as JSON, CSV, Excel, XML, or another Apify format.

#### How do I paginate large datasets?

Use `limit` and `offset` on the dataset items endpoint. `maxItems` limits how many rows the run saves.

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Preferred input. Carrefour search, category, or product URLs (e.g. https://www.carrefouruae.com/mafuae/en/search?keyword=pampers, https://www.carrefouruae.com/mafuae/en/c/F1510000, https://www.carrefouruae.com/mafuae/en/capsules/lavazza-rossa-aluminium-capsules/p/1894274). Country is inferred from the host.

## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):

Product search terms used on the selected country shop (e.g. "pampers", "lavazza coffee", "olive oil"). Used when you do not have a URL. Ignored for that item when a matching Start URL is also provided.

## `categoryIds` (type: `array`):

Country-specific category codes from a Carrefour category URL (e.g. "F1510000" for Coffee in UAE, "F1000000" for Baby Products). Prefer Start URLs when you already have the category page.

## `countryCode` (type: `string`):

Carrefour country shop used for searchQueries and categoryIds. Ignored for Start URLs (the URL host wins).

## `fetchProductDetails` (type: `boolean`):

When enabled, fetches extra product fields (EAN, brand, origin, size, category path). This is billed as a second pay-per-event charge (product-details) in addition to dataset-item. When disabled, listing/card fields only (faster).

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of products to scrape (0 = unlimited)

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many product requests to run in parallel, each with a rotated residential proxy (e.g. 8). Higher is faster; keep moderate to avoid blocks.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Proxy settings. Apify Residential is required for reliable access.
