## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## App Store Reviews Scraper: Apple iOS app reviews by country

Get the reviews of any iOS app from the Apple App Store as clean JSON: rating, title, text, app version, date, author and helpful votes. Paste the App Store URL or the numeric app id, pick the countries, and run. Up to 500 recent reviews per app per country, newest or most helpful first.

No login, no API key, no proxies. The data comes from the public review feed Apple publishes per storefront, so it is stable and fast.

**Run it with the default input to see it work.** It returns the latest US reviews of Spotify.

### What you get

One row per review:

| field | meaning |
|---|---|
| `app_id`, `app_name` | numeric id and the name in the storefront |
| `country` | two-letter storefront code, each country has its own reviews |
| `review_id` | Apple's id, stable across runs, use it to detect new reviews |
| `rating` | 1 to 5 stars |
| `title`, `text` | headline and full review text |
| `version` | app version the reviewer had installed |
| `date` | ISO 8601 timestamp with the storefront offset |
| `author` | public display name |
| `vote_sum`, `vote_count` | helpful votes |
| `url` | link to the review |

Example row:

```json
{
  "app_id": "324684580",
  "app_name": "Spotify: Music and Podcasts",
  "country": "us",
  "review_id": "12345678901",
  "title": "Great app, one bug",
  "text": "Works well, but the widget stopped updating after the last release.",
  "rating": 4,
  "version": "9.1.80",
  "author": "musicfan_42",
  "date": "2026-10-02T01:07:45-07:00",
  "vote_sum": 3,
  "vote_count": 5,
  "url": "https://itunes.apple.com/us/review?id=324684580&type=Purple%20Software"
}
```

### Input

| field | what it does |
|---|---|
| `apps` | App Store URLs or numeric ids, one per line |
| `countries` | storefront codes such as `us`, `gb`, `de`, `nl`, `jp`. Default `us` |
| `sort` | `mostrecent` (default) or `mosthelpful` |
| `maxReviewsPerAppPerCountry` | cap per app and country, max 500 |
| `maxReviews` | hard stop across the run, also your budget cap |
| `minRating`, `maxRating` | keep only a star range, for example 1 to 2 for complaints |

Minimal input:

```json
{ "apps": ["https://apps.apple.com/us/app/spotify-music-and-podcasts/id324684580"], "countries": ["us", "gb", "de"] }
```

### Pricing

Pay per review returned: **$0.20 per 1,000 reviews**, charged only for rows that land in the dataset after your filters. Apify's free monthly credit covers tens of thousands of reviews, so you can evaluate without paying.

#### Subscriptions and shared agent access

Scored signals from SEC, FDA, Congress and other official filings. The daily output is hashed and anchored, so past signals cannot be edited. Agents call it over MCP. [See the track record](https://datasignalslab.com/proof.html)

Every score in every report lists the terms it was built from, so you can check the number instead of trusting it.

This Actor is part of [DataSignals Lab](https://datasignalslab.com). It does not feed the signal reports. The plans below cover those and the shared MCP access. All prices are listed on the [pricing page](https://datasignalslab.com/pricing.html):

- **Free.** Report previews, a weekly signal digest and 50 free MCP calls per month for AI agents.
- **Snapshot, $19 one time.** The current edition of one report plus 30 days of updates.
- **DataSignals Pro, $29 per month or $290 per year.** All three reports refreshed monthly, MCP access for AI agents (2000 calls per month fair use), email alerts. Cancel anytime.

### Who uses this

- Product managers and support teams tracking complaints per release and per country.
- Competitive intelligence: pull the reviews of three competitors side by side.
- Researchers and NLP teams who need labelled text (the star rating is the label).
- Agencies building review dashboards for app publishers.
- AI agents that answer "what are users complaining about this week" from live data.

Need sentiment, aspect clustering and a competitor gap report instead of raw rows? That is [App Store Review Intelligence](https://apify.com/datasignalslab/app-store-review-intelligence), which runs on the same source and charges per app analysed.

### Limits and honesty

- Apple exposes at most 500 recent reviews per app per country through this feed. For a full history, run it on a schedule and de-duplicate on `review_id`.
- Only the Apple App Store. For Google Play use [Google Play Reviews Scraper](https://apify.com/datasignalslab/google-play-reviews-scraper).
- Developer replies are not part of this feed.

### Integrations

Works with the Apify API, scheduled runs, webhooks, and the Apify MCP server, so Claude, ChatGPT and other agents can call it as a tool. Export to JSON, CSV, Excel or push into Google Sheets.

# Actor input Schema

## `apps` (type: `array`):

One per line. Full App Store URLs such as https://apps.apple.com/us/app/spotify-music-and-podcasts/id324684580, or just the id 324684580.

## `countries` (type: `array`):

Two-letter storefront codes, for example us, gb, de, nl, fr, jp, br, in. Each country has its own reviews. Default us.

## `sort` (type: `string`):

## `minRating` (type: `integer`):

Keep only reviews with at least this many stars.

## `maxRating` (type: `integer`):

Keep only reviews with at most this many stars. Set 2 to collect complaints only.
