## Pricing

from $0.48 / 1,000 jobs

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## StepStone Jobs Scraper: Germany Jobs, Salaries & New-Job Alerts

Export jobs from [StepStone.de](https://www.stepstone.de), Germany's largest job board, by **job title or keyword and city**. Every row comes with title, company, location, **salary range as numbers** (including StepStone's own salary estimate, flagged as such), **home office** (remote / hybrid), publish and expiry date, benefits and the job link.

- **Many searches in one run.** Give a list of keywords and a list of cities: every keyword × city pair is searched. `Data Engineer`, `Python` × `Berlin`, `München`, `Hamburg` = 6 searches.
- **New-job alerts.** Turn on **Only new jobs** and schedule the Actor: each later run returns only jobs it has not seen before. Jobs already seen are **not returned and not charged**.
- **A report per search.** The `SEARCHES` record shows, for each keyword × city, how many jobs StepStone lists and how many were read.

No login, no browser. Contact persons, e-mail addresses and phone numbers are **not** collected (e-mails and phone numbers that appear inside job text are replaced with `[removed]`).

### Important: how deep it goes

This Actor follows StepStone's `robots.txt`. It allows the first page of each search (up to **25 jobs**) but not page 2, 3, ... or URLs with filters and sorting. So:

- each keyword × city search returns **up to 25 jobs** (the ones StepStone ranks first);
- to cover more of the market, use **more specific searches**: several job titles × several cities. 10 titles × 10 cities = 100 searches, typically 1,500–2,500 different jobs;
- for monitoring, schedule the run daily: new jobs that StepStone ranks in the first 25 are picked up as they appear.

If you need every one of the 2,000 jobs behind a single broad search, this Actor is not the right tool.

### What you get

- **Job.** `title`, `url`, `jobId`, `publishedAt`, `validThrough`, `snippet` (StepStone's short preview), `benefits` (list), `skills`, `labels` (e.g. `NO_COVER_LETTER`), `isSponsored`, `isTopJob`.
- **Company.** `company`, `companyId`, `companyUrl`, `companyLogoUrl` (`null` for anonymous employers, `isAnonymousEmployer: true`).
- **Where.** `location`, `postCode`, `workplaceType` (`remote`, `hybrid` or `null` when not stated), `remote`.
- **Salary.** `salaryMin`, `salaryMax`, `salaryCurrency`, `salaryPeriod` (`yearly`, `monthly`, `hourly`...), `salaryIsEstimate` (`true` = StepStone's estimate for this job, `false` = given by the employer), `salaryText`.
- **Search.** `searchKeyword`, `searchLocation`, `searchUrl`, `positionOnPage`, `scrapedAt`; `changeType` and `firstSeenAt` in monitoring mode.
- **Reports** in the run's key-value store: `SEARCHES` and `HEALTH`.

### How to search

| You want | Set |
|---|---|
| Python jobs in Berlin | **Job titles or keywords** `Python`, **Cities** `Berlin` |
| One title in many cities | one keyword, a list of cities |
| A title anywhere in Germany | a keyword, no city |
| All jobs in a city (top 25) | a city, no keyword |
| Remote jobs only | **Home office** `Fully remote only` |
| Last week's jobs | **Posted within (days)** `7` |
| A daily new-job feed | **Only new jobs** on, schedule the Actor daily |
| A StepStone page you have open | paste it in **StepStone search URLs** (only plain `/jobs/...` pages, no filters or page numbers) |

Umlauts are fine: `München`, `Köln`, `Düsseldorf`.

### Pricing

Pay per event: a small start fee per run and a fee per job row. Filtered-out jobs, jobs already seen in monitoring mode and duplicates (the same job found by two searches) are free. Proxy costs are included.

### Good to know

- **Search report.** A search can end as `ok`, `no_results` (StepStone has no job for it), `location_not_found` (StepStone did not recognise the city; no jobs are taken so you never get an unrelated nationwide list), `blocked` or `error`. The run only fails when no search worked at all.
- **Blocking.** StepStone does not answer Apify's datacenter IPs, so German residential proxies are used. When a request is refused, the Actor switches IP at most 3 times and then marks that search `blocked`; after two blocked searches in a row the rest are skipped. No CAPTCHA solving.
- **Monitoring shows new jobs only.** A job that drops out of the first 25 has not necessarily been taken down, so removed jobs are not reported.
- **Germany only** (stepstone.de).

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

One per line, e.g. 'Data Engineer', 'Pflegefachkraft', 'Python'. Each keyword is searched in each location below.

## `locations` (type: `array`):

One per line, e.g. 'Berlin', 'München', 'Frankfurt am Main'. Leave empty to search all of Germany. Every keyword × city pair is its own search.

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Or paste StepStone.de search pages such as https://www.stepstone.de/jobs/data-engineer/in-berlin. Pages with filters, sorting or page numbers in the URL cannot be used (StepStone's robots.txt does not allow them).

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many job rows (you pay per row).

## `workplace` (type: `string`):

Filters are applied by the scraper; jobs that don't match are not charged.

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Only jobs published in the last N days. Leave empty for any date.

## `includeSimilarJobs` (type: `boolean`):

StepStone fills thin searches with jobs from outside the city or with a related title. Off: only real matches. Sponsored 'you may also like' jobs are never included.

## `onlyNewJobs` (type: `boolean`):

For scheduled runs: each run returns only jobs not seen in an earlier run with the same settings (changeType NEW). Jobs already seen are not returned and not charged. The first run returns everything as NEW.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

StepStone does not answer Apify's datacenter IPs, so German residential proxies are used by default (included in the price). When a request is refused, the scraper switches IP at most 3 times and then reports the search as blocked.
