## Pricing

from $0.90 / 1,000 job listings

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Wellfound Jobs Scraper: Startup Jobs, Salary, Equity & Stage

Export startup jobs from [Wellfound](https://wellfound.com) (formerly AngelList Talent) with **salary and equity parsed into numbers**, the company's **stage, size and badges on every row** (Y Combinator, top investors, actively hiring), full descriptions and real posting dates.

No proxy, no login, no personal data.

### What you get

- **Numbers, not text.** `$170k – $250k • 1.0% – 3.0%` becomes `salaryMin: 170000`, `salaryMax: 250000`, `salaryCurrency: "USD"`, `equityMinPercent: 1.0`, `equityMaxPercent: 3.0`. Handles USD, EUR, GBP, INR (lakhs), CAD (C$), AUD (A$), SGD (S$), MXN, AED and more, monthly and hourly pay (converted to yearly), "Up to $170k", equity-only and "No equity" listings.
- **Company context in every row.** Stage (Early, Growth, Scale, Public), size (`51-200`), markets (B2B/B2C), one-liner, logo and badges: YC backed, top investors, actively hiring, growing fast, valuation $1B+.
- **Real posting dates**, work arrangement (remote, on-site, hybrid), accepted remote regions, job type, required years of experience, and the applicant tracking system behind the job (Greenhouse, Ashby, Lever...).
- **Full descriptions** as Markdown and plain text.
- **Filters that save money:** jobs that don't match are not returned and **not charged**. Role, location, remote, salary, currency, equity, experience, posted within, company size and stage, YC / top investors / actively hiring, keywords, exclude words, include and exclude companies.
- **Only new jobs.** Turn on *Only new jobs since last run* and schedule it daily for job alerts.
- **Reports** in the run's key-value store: `SEARCHES` (pages read and available, jobs seen and matched per search) and `HEALTH`. If Wellfound blocks the run or changes its format, you get a clear message instead of an empty dataset.

### How to search

| You want | Set |
|---|---|
| Jobs for a role in a city | **Roles** `software-engineer`, **Locations** `san-francisco` |
| Remote jobs | **Locations** `remote` |
| A role everywhere | Leave **Locations** empty |
| Several roles and cities | Every role is searched in every location |
| A specific Wellfound page | Paste it in **Wellfound search URLs**, e.g. `https://wellfound.com/role/l/data-scientist/london` |

Role and location names are the ones in Wellfound addresses (`product-manager`, `new-york`, `united-states`...). If a role and location pair doesn't exist on Wellfound, the run says so in the `SEARCHES` report.

Each page holds about 40 jobs and a broad role can have around 90 pages (a role in one city usually has fewer). *Max pages per search* controls how deep to go.

### Output example

```json
{
  "id": "wellfound:4787326",
  "title": "Software Engineer",
  "role": "Software Engineer",
  "jobType": "full-time",
  "locations": ["San Francisco"],
  "isRemote": true, "remoteKind": "onsite_or_remote",
  "yearsExperienceMin": 3,
  "salaryMin": 100000, "salaryMax": 165000, "salaryCurrency": "USD", "salaryPeriod": "annual",
  "salaryYearlyMax": 165000,
  "equityMinPercent": 1.0, "equityMaxPercent": 3.0, "noEquity": false,
  "compensationText": "$100k – $165k • 1.0% – 3.0%",
  "postedAt": "2026-09-30T23:02:51Z",
  "company": "Nyle.ai", "companySize": "11-50", "companyStage": "Early Stage",
  "companyMarkets": ["B2B"], "isYcBacked": false, "hasTopInvestors": false, "isActivelyHiring": true,
  "companyBadges": ["Actively Hiring", "B2B", "Early Stage"],
  "companyOneLiner": "AI-Powered Growth for Ecommerce Brands",
  "url": "https://wellfound.com/jobs/4787326-software-engineer"
}
```

### Good to know

- **Salary periods are not guessed.** Wellfound writes annual pay as `$100k – $165k`. A figure without a unit, such as `₹10,000 – ₹30,000` (often a monthly stipend), keeps its numbers but gets no yearly value, so *Minimum yearly salary* skips it. The original text is always in `compensationText`.
- **Not every job states pay.** Many listings have no salary or no equity. Salary and equity filters drop those.
- **Search pages only.** The Actor reads Wellfound's public search pages. Company pages and individual job pages are not read, so founders, funding rounds and contact details are not collected. Wellfound's own job page is linked in `url`.
- **If Wellfound blocks the run** (it can block some networks), the search is reported as `blocked` and you can try again later. The Actor does not use proxies or any workaround.
- **Polite by design.** Pages are read one at a time with a pause in between, only pages Wellfound's robots.txt allows are requested, redirects to sign-in or other pages are never followed, and the Actor identifies itself honestly (`DatasmithLab-Scraper`) instead of pretending to be a browser.

### Pricing

Pay per job returned plus a small start fee per run. Descriptions are included at the same price, and filtered-out jobs are free.
