## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Play Scraper

Scrape **Google Play apps** by **search term, app ID or developer** and get the data you see on the store — and more: **rating, ratings count, the 1–5 star histogram, installs (including the exact install count), price, in-app purchases, ads, release and update dates, category, content rating, description and screenshots**. Any country and language. No API key, no login.

- ✅ **Three ways in** — search terms, a list of app IDs/URLs, or all apps of a developer
- ✅ **Exact installs** — `realInstalls` gives the precise number behind "1,000,000,000+"
- ✅ **Rating histogram** — how many 1★…5★ ratings each app has
- ✅ **Any store country** — prices, availability and rankings for `us`, `gb`, `in`, `br`…
- ✅ **No duplicates** — an app found by several sources is saved once
- ✅ **$0.80 per 1,000 apps**, full details included, platform usage included

  "language": "en"
}
```
### Example output (real result, shortened)
```json
{
  "appId": "com.duolingo",
  "title": "Duolingo: Learn Languages",
  "developer": "Duolingo",
  "genre": "Education",
  "score": 4.732,
  "ratingsCount": 49561409,
  "installs": "500,000,000+",
  "realInstalls": 981024551,

  "containsAds": true,
  "offersInAppPurchases": true,
  "released": "2013-05-29",
  "updated": "2026-10-06T18:53:36Z",

}
```
### Pricing
Pay per result: **$0.80 per 1,000 apps**, plus a tiny start fee of $0.00005 per run. Full app details are included. Platform usage (compute and proxies) is included — you are not charged anything else.
| Example | Cost |
|---|---|
| 30 apps for each of 20 keywords (600 apps) | $0.48 |
| daily tracking of 500 competitor apps | ~$12 per month |
### Use cases
- **App store optimization (ASO)** — see who ranks for your keywords and how they describe their apps.
- **Competitor tracking** — follow ratings, installs and update frequency of competing apps daily.
- **Market research** — compare categories, prices, in-app purchase ranges and ad usage across countries.
- **Lead generation for app businesses** — list developers and their websites in a niche.
### Use it via API
```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient

client = ApifyClient("YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN")
run = client.actor("dataspace/google-play-scraper").call(run_input={
    "searchTerms": ["meditation"],
    "country": "gb",
})
for app in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(app["title"], app["score"], app["realInstalls"])
```
Results also flow into Google Sheets, Make, Zapier, n8n, webhooks or your AI agent through the Apify MCP server.
