## Pricing

from $0.49 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event and usage. You are charged both the fixed price for specific events and for Apify platform usage.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## TikTok Hashtag Momentum & Top Creator Tracker

TikTok's Creative Center publishes a short daily list of the hashtags gaining the most traction in a given country. This actor reads that list and returns, for each trending hashtag, its rank, how many videos used it, how many views those videos got, a day-by-day momentum curve, and (when published) the industry tags and top creators driving it.

### What this actor does

- Reads TikTok Creative Center's trending-hashtag list for a chosen country and observation window (7, 30, or 180 days).
- Returns post count and total video views for each ranked hashtag, so you can see volume and reach side by side.
- Includes a day-by-day popularity curve for each hashtag, useful for spotting whether it's still climbing or already past its peak.
- Surfaces the industry categories and top creators TikTok associates with the hashtag, when that data is published for it.
- Exits cleanly with a log message (no error rows) if TikTok temporarily blocks the request IP, rather than pushing broken data.
- Any field TikTok doesn't publish for a given hashtag — such as `topCreators` when none are listed — is left out of that record.

### Output per hashtag

- `hashtagId` — TikTok's internal ID for the hashtag
- `hashtagName` — the hashtag text without the leading `#`
- `rankIndex` — position in the trending list (1 is the top trend)
- `publishCnt` — number of videos published with this hashtag during the observed period
- `vv` — total video views accumulated by content using this hashtag
- `industryIds` — industry category IDs TikTok tags this hashtag with, when published
- `popularityCurve` — array of `{ date, value }` points tracing the hashtag's momentum over the period
- `topCreators` — array of creator objects (`rank`, `ttuid`, `handleName`, `nickname`, `followerCount`, `countryCode`, `avatarUrl`) TikTok credits for the trend, when published
- `observedCountry` — the country code the query was run against
- `observedPeriod` — the time window, in days, the query used
- `scrapedAt` — when this record was collected

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `country` | String | `US` | ISO 2-letter country code to query (e.g. `US`, `GB`, `JP`, `BR`). The actor automatically requests a residential IP in this country; which country's trends actually come back depends on that IP being available. |
| `period` | String (select) | `7` | Observation window in days: `7` (recent spikes), `30` (sustained trends), or `180` (long-term). |
| `maxRanks` | Integer | 3 | Maximum number of trending hashtags to return. TikTok's public, unauthenticated endpoint only exposes the top 3 per request. |

#### Example: this week's top US trends

```json
{
  "country": "US",
  "period": "7",
  "maxRanks": 3
}
```

#### Example: 30-day sustained trends in Germany

```json
{
  "country": "DE",
  "period": "30",
  "maxRanks": 3
}
```

#### Example: 180-day view for South Korea

```json
{
  "country": "KR",
  "period": "180",
  "maxRanks": 3
}
```

### Use cases

- **Content calendars** — slot a market's current top hashtags into next week's posting plan.
- **Trend timing** — read the `popularityCurve` to tell a hashtag that's still rising from one that's already fading.
- **Creator partnerships** — pull `topCreators` to find who's already riding a given trend before reaching out.
- **Regional comparison** — run the same period across several `country` values to see which trends are shared and which are local.
- **Brand hashtag checks** — schedule daily runs and watch for your own campaign hashtag entering the list.

### FAQ

**Why are there only 3 hashtags per run?**
TikTok's Creative Center exposes just the top 3 trending hashtags to unauthenticated requests — that's a limit on TikTok's side, not something this actor can configure around.

**Does `country` guarantee that country's trends?**
Not strictly — Creative Center determines the market from the IP making the request, and the actor automatically requests a residential IP in the country you asked for. If one isn't available at run time, results may fall back to the detected region of whichever IP was used instead.

**What's the difference between `publishCnt` and `vv`?**
`publishCnt` counts how many new videos used the hashtag in the period; `vv` is the total views those videos picked up. A hashtag with a modest `publishCnt` but a large `vv` means a small number of videos went very viral.

**Why is `topCreators` missing on some records?**
TikTok only publishes a top-creator list for some trending hashtags. When it isn't published for a hashtag, the field is left off that record rather than returned empty.

**How often does this data change?**
Creative Center refreshes its rankings roughly daily, so scheduling one run per day per market is enough to track changes without duplicate data.

**What if a run returns nothing?**
TikTok occasionally rejects requests from certain IP ranges. When that happens the run ends cleanly with a log message explaining the block, instead of producing partial or error records.

**Is this affiliated with TikTok?**
No. This actor reads TikTok's public Creative Center trend data; it has no affiliation with TikTok or ByteDance.

# Actor input Schema

## `country` (type: `string`):

ISO 2-letter country code for the target market (e.g. US, GB, JP, KR, BR). Country-specific results depend on a residential proxy IP in that country being available — otherwise the server defaults to the IP's detected region.

## `period` (type: `string`):

Trend observation window. 7 days shows recent viral spikes; 30 days shows sustained trends.

## `maxRanks` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of trending hashtags to return. TikTok's public endpoint caps unauthenticated requests at 3 items.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "country": "US",
  "period": "7",
  "maxRanks": 3
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `data` (type: `string`):

Dataset containing one record per trending hashtag with rank, post count, video views, popularity curve and top creator data.
