## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## App Store Reviews Scraper – iOS Reviews & App Data

Get Apple App Store reviews for any iPhone or iPad app, in any country, as clean JSON, CSV or Excel. Add app details (rating, rating count, version, release notes, size, genres, screenshots) in the same run. It uses Apple's own public feeds, so there's no login, no API key and no breakage from page redesigns.

Built for:

- **Product and UX teams:** read every 1–2 star review since the last release.
- **App marketers and ASO:** track ratings and sentiment across countries.
- **Competitor research:** compare complaints across rival apps.
- **AI pipelines:** feed reviews into an LLM for theme clustering and summaries.

### Features

- Input **App Store URLs, numeric IDs, or search terms** (e.g. "budget tracker").
- **Multiple countries** in one run. Each App Store country has separate reviews.
- Filters: **min/max stars, keywords, since-date**.
- Every review includes star rating, title, full text, author, app version, date and helpful-vote counts.
- An optional **app details** row per app and country.

### Output example

```json
{
  "type": "review",
  "appId": "284882215",
  "appName": "Facebook",
  "country": "us",
  "rating": 2,
  "title": "Keeps logging me out",
  "text": "Since the last update the app logs me out every day…",
  "author": "someuser123",
  "appVersion": "530.0",
  "date": "2026-10-19T15:01:06-07:00",
  "voteSum": 3,
  "voteCount": 4
}
```

### Limits

Apple's public review feed returns the **most recent 500 reviews per app per country**. To get more history, add more countries, or run it on a schedule (daily or weekly) with **Only reviews since** set, and build up your own archive.

### Pricing

Pay **per review** and **per app details row**. If an app doesn't exist in a country, that row is free.

# Actor input Schema

## `apps` (type: `array`):

App Store URLs (apps.apple.com/us/app/.../id284882215) or numeric app IDs.

## `searchTerms` (type: `array`):

Find apps by keyword, e.g. 'budget tracker'.

## `maxAppsPerSearch` (type: `integer`):

How many top search results to scrape for each search term.

## `sinceDate` (type: `string`):

YYYY-MM-DD

## `includeAppDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Add one row per app and country with rating, version, developer and other app data.

    "useApifyProxy": false
  }
}
```
# Actor output Schema
## `results` (type: `string`):
All items the run produced, in the default dataset.
