## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Website Contact Finder – Emails, Phones & Social Profiles

Turn a list of websites into a contact list. For each site you get **emails, phone numbers and social profiles** (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Threads, WhatsApp). It reads the homepage plus the **contact, about, team, imprint and locations** pages.

Built for:

- **Enriching Google Maps leads:** pass the dataset ID from any Google Maps scraper run and get contacts for every business that has a website.
- **Agencies and sales teams** building outreach lists from domains.
- **Recruiters and partnership teams** looking for a real person's address, not just info@.

### Why this one

- **Personal vs. generic emails:** `personalEmails` (jane@…) and `genericEmails` (info@, sales@…) are split for you.
- **Protected emails decoded:** Cloudflare-obfuscated addresses are decoded, and junk (image names, tracking IDs, no-reply) is filtered out.
- **Own-domain filter:** optionally keep only emails on the site's own domain, so you drop gmail, agency and vendor addresses.
- **Dead sites are free:** unreachable, non-existent and blocked sites come back with an `error` and are not charged.
- **Chains with any dataset:** your original row (name, address, rating…) is kept in `source`.

### Input

- **Websites:** URLs or bare domains.
- **Or an Apify dataset ID** plus the column that holds the URL (`website` for Google Maps scrapers).

### Output example

```json
{
  "domain": "example-plumbing.com",
  "name": "Example Plumbing Co.",
  "emails": ["mike@example-plumbing.com", "info@example-plumbing.com"],
  "personalEmails": ["mike@example-plumbing.com"],
  "genericEmails": ["info@example-plumbing.com"],
  "phones": ["(555) 010-0199"],
  "facebook": "https://www.facebook.com/exampleplumbing",
  "instagram": "https://www.instagram.com/exampleplumbing",
  "linkedin": null,
  "contactPage": "https://example-plumbing.com/contact",
  "status": "ok"
}
```

### Pricing

Pay **per website scanned**. Sites that fail to load are free.

### Tips

- Most sites need no proxy. If many return `http-403`, turn on Apify Proxy.
- 1,000 sites take roughly 3–6 minutes at the default concurrency.

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Website URLs or bare domains.

## `datasetId` (type: `string`):

Scan every website in an existing dataset, e.g. a Google Maps scraper run.

## `websiteField` (type: `string`):

Column in the dataset that holds the URL. Google Maps scrapers use "website".

## `maxSites` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many websites.

## `maxPagesPerSite` (type: `integer`):

Homepage plus contact / about / team / imprint pages.

## `onlyWithEmail` (type: `boolean`):

Skip websites where no email address was found.

## `sameDomainEmailsOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Drops gmail.com, agency and vendor addresses.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many sites to scan at the same time.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Not needed for most sites. Turn on Apify Proxy if many requests are blocked.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "startUrls": [
    {
      "url": "https://apify.com"
    }
  ],
  "websiteField": "website",
  "maxSites": 1000,
  "maxPagesPerSite": 4,
  "onlyWithEmail": false,
  "sameDomainEmailsOnly": false,
  "maxConcurrency": 10,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": false
  }
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

All items the run produced, in the default dataset.
