## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby & Workable Jobs Scraper API

Scrape every open job from company career pages on **Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable and SmartRecruiters** and get them back in **one unified format**. Paste career-page URLs, add filters if you want, and get the title, department, team, locations, remote flag, employment type, **salary range** (when the company publishes one), posting date and apply link for every job.

Think of it as a **Greenhouse jobs API, Lever jobs API and Ashby jobs API in one**. It's a career page scraper that reads the official public job-board feeds these ATS vendors provide for embedding job listings. It needs no login, API key, proxy or browser.

Turn on **Only new jobs since last run**, schedule the Actor daily and add a **Slack or Discord webhook**. You then get a job-alert feed that only pings you when a company posts a new role.

### Who it's for and use cases

- **Sales and lead generation (hiring signals).** A company hiring its first "Data Engineer" or "Head of Security" is a buying signal. Track your target accounts' job boards and get notified the day a relevant role appears.
- **Job aggregators and niche job boards.** Feed hundreds of company boards into your site with consistent fields and apply links, and ingest only fresh postings on every scheduled run.
- **Recruiters and talent intelligence.** Monitor competitors' hiring to see which teams are growing, in which cities and at what salary ranges.
- **Job seekers.** Follow the companies you want to work for and get a Slack or Discord ping when they post, for example, a remote engineering role.
- **Market and investment research.** Use open roles by department as a proxy for a company's momentum.

### Why this Actor

- **5 ATS platforms, one schema.** Greenhouse (including the EU host), Lever (US and EU), Ashby, **Workable** and SmartRecruiters. Every vendor returns the same fields, so you can mix hundreds of companies in one run.
- **Paste any career-page URL.** `boards.greenhouse.io/x`, `job-boards.greenhouse.io/x`, embed URLs (`?for=x`), `jobs.lever.co/x`, `jobs.eu.lever.co/x`, `jobs.ashbyhq.com/x`, `apply.workable.com/x` and `jobs.smartrecruiters.com/x` are all detected automatically, and a link to a single job works too. You can also use the short form `greenhouse:airbnb`.
- **New-job alerts built in.** The Actor remembers which jobs it already delivered (per input, or per named tracker) and returns only new ones on the next run.
- **Native Slack and Discord webhook.** One POST per run carries a ready-to-read message plus the job records, which also works with Zapier, Make and n8n. You don't need a separate integration to get alerts.
- **Normalized salary data.** Greenhouse pay-transparency ranges, Lever salary ranges and Ashby compensation tiers are mapped to `min / max / currency / interval`.
- **Live data, full descriptions.** Every run reads the boards directly, so there's no stale cache. Descriptions are full plain text with no length cap.
- **Cheap.** $1 per 1,000 jobs. Filters are applied *before* anything is saved, so you never pay for jobs you filtered out. The Actor makes one API request per company (SmartRecruiters: one per 100 jobs) and runs in 256 MB.

### How to use

1. Click **Try for free** (or **Start**) on this page.
2. In **Company career pages**, paste one career-page URL per line, for example `https://jobs.lever.co/spotify`. To find a company's board, open its careers page, click any job and copy the link.
3. Optionally add **Filters**: title keywords, excluded keywords, departments, locations, remote only, or posted within N days.
4. Set **Max jobs per company** and **Max jobs in total** to control the cost of the run.
5. Click **Start**. Most runs finish in a few seconds. Download the results as JSON, CSV, Excel, XML or HTML, or read them through the API.
6. *(Optional, for alerts)* Enable **Only new jobs since last run**, add a **Webhook URL**, and create a schedule in Console → Schedules (for example, every morning).

  "locations": ["United States"],
  "remote": false,
  "workplaceType": null,
  "employmentType": null,
  "compensation": { "summary": "Pay Range", "min": 157000, "max": 185000, "currency": "USD", "interval": null },

}
```
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `boardToken` | string | Board name on the ATS (for example `airbnb`) |
| `jobId` | string | The job's ID on the ATS, stable between runs |
| `title` | string | Job title |
| `department`, `team` | string | Department and sub-team or function |
| `location` | string | Primary location |
| `locations` | array | All listed locations |
| `remote` | boolean | Marked remote by the board, or "remote" appears in the location |
### Pricing
You **pay per job saved**: **$0.001 per job ($1 per 1,000 jobs)**, plus Apify's standard Actor start fee of $0.00005 per run. Platform compute is included in that price.
Worked examples:
- **One-off export:** 20 companies with 25 matching jobs each = 500 jobs → 500 × $0.001 = **$0.50**.
- **Daily new-job alert:** 50 companies, about 10 new matching jobs a day → about $0.01 a day, or **about $0.30 a month**. The first run delivers all current jobs once, so it costs more. Runs that find nothing new cost only the start fee.
Jobs removed by your filters are never charged. A run also stops by itself once it reaches the maximum cost per run you set in Apify.
### Integrations and API
Use the results in Google Sheets, Airtable, Slack, Zapier, Make, n8n or your own code. You can also call the Actor from any language through the Apify API.
**Python** (`pip install apify-client`)
```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient

client = ApifyClient("<YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>")
run = client.actor("deanko/ats-jobs-scraper").call(run_input={
    "companies": ["https://jobs.lever.co/spotify", "greenhouse:airbnb", "ashby:ramp"],
    "keywords": ["engineer"],
    "maxItems": 100,
})
for job in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(job["company"], job["title"], job["location"], job["jobUrl"])
```
**JavaScript / Node.js** (`npm install apify-client`)
```js
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';

const client = new ApifyClient({ token: '<YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>' });
const run = await client.actor('deanko/ats-jobs-scraper').call({
    companies: ['https://jobs.lever.co/spotify', 'greenhouse:airbnb', 'ashby:ramp'],
    keywords: ['engineer'],
    maxItems: 100,
});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
console.log(items.map((j) => `${j.company}: ${j.title} (${j.location})`));
```
#### New-job alerts and webhooks
1. Enable **Only new jobs since last run** and, optionally, set a **Tracker name**.
2. The first run returns all currently open matching jobs and remembers their IDs in a named key-value store, `ats-jobs-tracker`, in your account.
3. Every later run returns only jobs that weren't delivered before. Closed jobs are dropped from that memory, so it stays small, and a job that reopens is reported again.
4. Schedule the Actor and add a **Webhook URL**. The Actor sends a message only when it finds jobs.
The webhook sends this payload:
```json
{
  "text": "3 new jobs found:\n• Data Engineer — Airbnb (Remote - US) https://...",
  "content": "the same message, trimmed to Discord's 2,000-character limit",
  "jobs": [ { "company": "Airbnb", "title": "Data Engineer", "...": "..." } ]
}
```
`text` works with Slack Incoming Webhooks and `content` with Discord channel webhooks. For Zapier, Make or n8n, use a "Catch webhook" trigger and read the `jobs` array (up to 100 jobs, without descriptions).
### FAQ
**How do I find a company's board name?**
Open the company's careers page and click any job. If the link goes to `boards.greenhouse.io/<name>`, `jobs.lever.co/<name>`, `jobs.ashbyhq.com/<name>`, `apply.workable.com/<name>` or `jobs.smartrecruiters.com/<name>`, paste that URL. Companies on Greenhouse with a custom careers domain usually still have `?gh_jid=` in their job links, and their board name is typically the company name (`greenhouse:stripe`).
**A company returned "Board not found (404)". Why?**
The board name is wrong, or the company has moved to another ATS. Copy a job link from its careers page again. The rest of the run continues, and failed boards are listed in `OUTPUT.failedBoards`.
**Can I search all Greenhouse or Lever companies by keyword?**
No. This Actor scrapes the companies you list, live. That's what keeps it cheap and current. Provide your own target list.
**Do I need proxies or a login?**
No. The vendors publish these feeds so companies can embed their job listings.
**Is it legal?**
The Actor reads only public job postings, the same data anyone can see on the company's careers page. It doesn't collect applicant data. Job descriptions are company-written text and can occasionally mention a recruiter's name, so handle them according to your local privacy rules. Respect each company's terms if you republish listings.
**Why are SmartRecruiters runs slower with descriptions on?**
SmartRecruiters' list API has no descriptions, so the Actor fetches each job's details, but only for jobs that pass your filters.
### Limitations
- Supported ATS platforms: Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable and SmartRecruiters. **Workday, iCIMS, BambooHR, Recruitee and Personio are not supported.**
- You need to list the companies yourself. There's no global keyword search across every board.
- Salary is filled only when the company publishes it (common in US pay-transparency states, rare elsewhere). Workable and SmartRecruiters feeds have no salary.
- Some vendors don't publish some fields, such as employment type on Greenhouse or `updatedAt` outside Greenhouse. Those fields are `null`.
- Filters are simple case-insensitive "contains" matches on the title, department, team and location text. There's no seniority or skills classification.
- The webhook message lists up to 20 jobs and the payload carries up to 100. The full list is always in the dataset.
# Actor input Schema
## `companies` (type: `array`):
Company career pages to scrape. Paste any career-page or job URL, or use the short form "vendor:board". The ATS and board name are detected automatically.<br><br>URL examples: https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/airbnb, https://boards.greenhouse.io/figma, https://jobs.lever.co/spotify, https://jobs.eu.lever.co/acme, https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/ramp, https://apply.workable.com/huggingface, https://jobs.smartrecruiters.com/BoschGroup<br>Short form: greenhouse:airbnb, lever:spotify, lever-eu:acme, ashby:ramp, workable:huggingface, smartrecruiters:BoschGroup<br><br>Tip: open the company careers page, click any job and copy that link.
## `keywords` (type: `array`):
Keep only jobs whose title contains at least one of these words (case-insensitive, partial match). Example: engineer, sales, data. Leave empty to get all jobs.
## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):
Drop jobs whose title contains any of these words (case-insensitive). Example: intern, principal.
## `departments` (type: `array`):
Keep only jobs whose department or team contains one of these values (case-insensitive). Example: Engineering, Marketing.
## `locations` (type: `array`):
Keep only jobs where any listed location contains one of these values (case-insensitive). Example: London, Germany, Remote.
## `remoteOnly` (type: `boolean`):
Keep only jobs the board marks as remote, or whose location text contains "remote".
## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):
Keep only jobs first published in the last N days (for example 7). 0 = no date filter.
## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):
Add the full job description as plain text (HTML stripped). Results get much larger. For SmartRecruiters this needs one extra request per job.
## `onlyNewSinceLastRun` (type: `boolean`):
Return only jobs that were not returned by a previous run with the same companies and filters (or the same tracker name). Schedule the Actor (e.g. daily) to get a feed of newly posted jobs. The first run returns every current matching job.
## `trackerName` (type: `string`):
Optional name for the 'seen jobs' memory used by "Only new jobs since last run". By default the memory is tied to the exact companies + filters, so editing the input starts a fresh tracker; set a name to keep the memory when you change the input.
## `webhookUrl` (type: `string`):
If set and at least one job is found, the Actor POSTs JSON {text, content, jobs} to this URL: "text" works for Slack incoming webhooks, "content" for Discord webhooks, and "jobs" holds up to 100 job records for Zapier, Make, n8n or your own endpoint.
## `maxItemsPerCompany` (type: `integer`):
Stop after this many matching jobs per company, newest first. 0 = no per-company limit.
## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):
Stop after this many jobs across all companies. You pay per job saved, so this also caps the cost of a run.
