## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Google Trends Daily: Trending Keywords by Country

Get today's trending keywords from Google Trends for any country or US state: every keyword Google lists as trending in the past 4 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours or 7 days, with its search volume, growth, a 1-1,000 score, when it started, the related keywords and the news stories behind it.

| 🔥 Keyword | 🔎 Searches | ⭐ Score | 🔺 Growth | 📅 Started (UTC) | 🔗 Related keywords |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| chiefs vs raiders | 1M+ | 1000 | 1,000% | 2026-10-04 13:20 | raiders vs chiefs, raiders |
| broncos vs 49ers | 1M+ | 1000 | 1,000% | 2026-10-04 15:50 | 49ers, 49ers game |
| cowboys vs texans | 1M+ | 1000 | 1,000% | 2026-10-04 12:20 | texans vs cowboys, cowboys game |

Collected 2026-10-05 from a run of the same engine (United States, past 24 hours).

**$0.69 per 1,000 trends on Starter** ($0.89 Free, $0.45 Scale, $0.24 Business). The prefilled run (100 US trends) costs about $0.07. News is included, and there's no start fee.

### Why this daily trends scraper

- **The whole daily list, not 10 items.** Google's daily RSS feed has about 10 keywords per country; this reads the full Trending Now list (US, past 24 hours: 487 trending keywords on 2026-10-04).
- **Every country and US state**, several in one run. A run for 8 countries delivered 1,304 trending keywords in 9 seconds (run time in the Console, 2026-10-05).
- **A score you can sort on**: `score` is the keyword's search volume against the biggest trend in that location (1,000 = the biggest), next to the raw volume (`500000`, shown as `500K+`) and growth in %.
- **The story behind each keyword**: up to 20 news articles per trend with the publisher's own link, source, time and image.
- No login, no browser, no residential proxy. A restarted run (a migration, or a resurrect seconds after it ends) never charges a keyword twice or goes past your max per location.

### How to use it

1. Pick one or more **Locations** (a country, or a state or region such as California or Bavaria).
2. Pick the window (**Trending in the past** 4 h, 24 h, 48 h or 7 days) and, if you like, **Categories** and **Status**.
3. Run it, or schedule it daily or hourly to keep a history. Download JSON, CSV or Excel, or use the API, Make, Zapier or n8n.

### Output

One row per trending keyword: `picture`, `term`, `rank`, `searchVolume`, `searchVolumeFormatted`, `percentIncrease`, `score`, `isActive`, `startedAt`, `endedAt`, `durationHours`, `categories`, `relatedQueries`, `topNewsTitle`, `topNewsUrl`, `topNewsSource`, `newsArticles`, `pictureSource`, `newsStatus`, `categoryIds`, `geo`, `geoName`, `timeframeHours`, `language`, `trendsUrl`, `scrapedAt`. A location Google has no list for gets a free row in the **Issues** dataset.

**Keyword history** (interest over time, rising queries for one keyword)? Use our [Google Trends Keyword Research](https://apify.com/deepmine/google-trends-keyword-research) Actor.

### Feedback

Questions, a missing field or a bug? Open an issue on the Issues tab; we answer within 48 hours. If the Actor saves you time, a review on its Store page helps a lot.
