## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Ashby Jobs Scraper

Ashby lets companies attach a pay range to every job, and many of them do. On 27 September OpenAI had one on 674 of its 830 open jobs, Ramp on 151 of 158. This Actor returns those ranges as numbers (minimum, maximum, currency and period) together with each job's title, department, team, locations, remote flag, employment type, publish date and description.

OpenAI, Ramp and Notion hire through Ashby at jobs.ashbyhq.com. A whole board comes back in one request, OpenAI's included, with ranges like $250K to $445K plus equity for a research engineer. Give a board name like `openai` or paste the board URL.

### What you get for each job

- Salary: minimum, maximum, currency, period, and Ashby's one-line summary that mentions equity
- Title, department, team and employment type
- Primary and secondary locations, workplace type and a remote flag
- Publish date, job page and application link
- The full description

### Input

```json
{
    "companies": [
        "openai",
        "https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/ramp"
    ],
    "keywords": [
        "engineer"
    ],
    "locations": [
        "San Francisco"
    ]
}
```

### Output

```json
{
    "company": "ramp",
    "ats": "ashby",
    "title": "Software Engineer, Frontend",
    "department": "Engineering",
    "team": "Frontend",
    "location": "New York, NY (HQ)",
    "locations": [
        "New York, NY (HQ)",
        "Remote (Canada)",
        "San Francisco, CA",
        "Remote (US)",
        "Miami, FL"
    ],
    "remote": true,
    "workplaceType": "Hybrid",
    "employmentType": "FullTime",
    "salary": {
        "min": 143200,
        "max": 284000,
        "currency": "USD",
        "interval": "1 YEAR",
        "text": "$143.2K – $284K • Offers Equity"
    },
    "url": "https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/ramp/4e64ab86-4e30-403b-b1b9-41dc052570ce"
}
```

### Pricing

$0.001 per job, which puts OpenAI's 830-job board at $0.83. You aren't charged for jobs your filters drop or for boards that fail. Apify adds $0.00005 per run for the start.

### Limits

- Companies that hide pay on Ashby have no salary field; the description is still checked for a written range.
- The company name is the board ID (`openai`), because Ashby's feed doesn't include a display name. Boards on other systems come back as an error row pointing to Career Site Jobs Scraper.

### Changelog

- 2026-09-27: first version.

# Actor input Schema

## `companies` (type: `array`):

Ashby job boards, one per line: a board URL (jobs.ashbyhq.com/openai) or just the board name (openai). A company domain works when its careers page links to Ashby. Up to 200 per run.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose title contains any of these words, for example engineer or sales. Empty keeps all jobs.

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Keep jobs whose location contains any of these, for example London, Germany or Remote. Empty keeps all.

## `remoteOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only jobs the company marks as remote.

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Keep jobs posted in the last N days. 0 keeps all.

## `onlyNewJobs` (type: `boolean`):

For scheduled runs: return only jobs that were not open the last time this ran. The list of seen jobs is kept in a key-value store called career-site-jobs-seen in your account.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Full description text. Workday, SmartRecruiters and Workable need one extra request per job for it, so turning it off makes big runs faster.

## `maxJobsPerCompany` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many matching jobs per company.
