## Pricing

Pay per event + usage

This Actor is paid per event and usage. You are charged both the fixed price for specific events and for Apify platform usage.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## First-Time Federal Contractors

Companies that just won their **first-ever federal contract**, from official USASpending.gov data. New entrants suddenly need DCAA-compliant accounting, CMMC/cybersecurity, bonding and insurance, banking, payroll, proposal writers and teaming partners. This is the moment they buy.

### How it works

1. Reads new contract awards (definitive contracts, purchase orders, delivery orders) made in the last N days, with your filters.
2. For each recipient, checks its full contract history back to 2007 (contracts and IDVs, by UEI, plus an exact-name check for pre-UEI records).
3. Returns the companies with **no award before the window**.

Matching is conservative: if a check fails, or the UEI matches a parent company's history, the company is *not* reported. Names that look like individuals (sole proprietors) are skipped, so the output has company data only.

### Input

| Field | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| `withinDays` | 14 | First award in the last N days (1–90) |
| `naicsCodes`, `states`, `agencies`, `minAmount` | – | Filters on the award |
| `maxRecipientsChecked` | 150 | Caps work and cost (about 5–10% of recipients are first-timers) |
| `maxResults` | 500 | Max companies |
| `onlyNew` | false | Skip companies returned by earlier runs (for schedules) |

### Output

```json
{
  "company": "CHESAPEAKE GRID GUARD LLC", "uei": "…", "firstAwardDate": "2026-10-30",
  "firstAward": {"awardId": "…", "amount": 29854.0, "agency": "Department of Veterans Affairs", "awardType": "PURCHASE ORDER",
                 "naics": "811310", "naicsDescription": "COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT … REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE",
                 "placeOfPerformanceState": "MD", "url": "https://www.usaspending.gov/award/…"},
  "awardsInWindow": 1, "totalAmountInWindow": 29854.0,
  "recipientProfileUrl": "https://www.usaspending.gov/recipient/…/latest"
}
```

### Pricing (pay per event)

$0.002 per run, $0.0003 per page of 100 awards read, $0.0005 per recipient checked, **$0.004 per first-time contractor**. The default run (150 recipients) costs about $0.13.
