## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## SEEK Jobs Scraper – Australia & New Zealand

Search **SEEK.com.au** and **SEEK.co.nz**, the largest job boards in Australia and New Zealand, by keyword, location, listing date, work type and remote/hybrid, and get every job ad as clean structured data: title, company, suburb, area and state, classification, work type, work arrangement, salary, listing date, teaser, selling points and job URL. You pay only per job delivered.

### What you get

| Field | Description |

| `title` | Job title |
| `company`, `advertiserId` | Advertiser (employer or recruitment agency) and its SEEK ID |
| `location`, `suburb`, `area`, `state`, `country` | Where the job is (`state` for Australia: NSW, VIC, QLD...) |
| `classification`, `subClassification` | SEEK category, such as *Information & Communication Technology* / *Engineering - Software* |
| `workType` | Full time, Part time, Contract/Temp, Casual/Vacation |
| `workArrangement` | On-site, Hybrid or Remote (when the ad states it) |
| `salary` | Salary text as shown on SEEK, or `null` if not disclosed |
| `listingDate` | When the job was listed (ISO) |
| `teaser`, `bulletPoints` | Short summary and selling points from the ad |
| `search` | The keyword that found the job |

Example item:

```json
{
  "jobId": "12345678",
  "title": "Senior Software Engineer",
  "company": "Example Tech Pty Ltd",
  "advertiserId": "40000001",
  "location": "Surry Hills, Sydney NSW",
  "suburb": "Surry Hills",
  "area": "Sydney NSW",
  "state": "NSW",
  "country": "AU",
  "classification": "Information & Communication Technology",
  "subClassification": "Engineering - Software",
  "workType": "Full time",
  "workArrangement": "Hybrid",
  "salary": "$150,000 – $170,000 + super",
  "listingDate": "2026-09-28T01:30:00.000Z",
  "teaser": "Join a growing product team building payments software.",
  "bulletPoints": ["Hybrid, 2 days in the office", "Modern stack", "Learning budget"],
  "jobUrl": "https://www.seek.com.au/job/12345678",
  "search": "software engineer"
}
```

### How to use

1. Add **Keywords**, one search per line (`software engineer`, `registered nurse`, `truck driver`). Leave them empty to list every job in a location.
2. Choose the **Country** (Australia or New Zealand) and, optionally, a **Location** as you would type it on SEEK (`Sydney NSW`, `Melbourne`, `Brisbane QLD 4000`, `Auckland`).
3. Optionally filter by **Listed within** (today, 3, 7, 14 or 30 days), **Work type** and **Remote / hybrid**, and pick **Sort by** relevance or newest first.
4. Set **Max jobs per keyword** and run. Export as JSON, CSV or Excel, schedule it daily, or call it through the Apify API, Make, Zapier, n8n or an AI agent via MCP.

A job found by several keywords is delivered (and charged) only once per run. Sponsored ads that SEEK pins on top of every page are returned in their normal place in the results.

### Use cases

- **Recruitment agencies and sales teams**: find companies that are hiring right now in your niche and region.
- **Job market and salary research**: track demand by role, city, work type and remote share.
- **Job boards and aggregators**: feed fresh Australian and New Zealand jobs into your site or newsletter.
- **Daily monitoring**: schedule a *Newest first* run with *Listed within: Today* and get only new ads.

### Pricing

**$1 per 1,000 jobs** ($0.001 each), charged only for jobs delivered. Searches with no results and failed searches are reported and free. The run stops by itself when your spending limit is reached.

### Errors (not charged)

Failed searches appear in the dataset as `{ "search", "error", "message" }`:

- `NO_RESULTS`: SEEK has no jobs for this keyword with these filters.
- `INVALID_INPUT`: SEEK rejected the search parameters (HTTP 400). Invalid input values stop the run with an error message before anything is charged.
- `BLOCKED` / `RATE_LIMITED` / `UPSTREAM_ERROR`: SEEK refused the request after all retries (the Actor retries automatically through datacenter and residential proxies).

### FAQ

**How many jobs can I get per search?** Up to about 528 per search (550 minus promoted ads): SEEK shows at most 550 results for any search, including the sponsored ads it pins on every page. For more, split the search by location, date or work type, or use more specific keywords.

**Does it return contact details?** No. The Actor returns business data only. If an advertiser writes an email address or phone number into the title, salary, teaser or bullet points, the whole sentence that holds it (usually with the recruiter's name) is replaced with `[contact details removed]`.

**Does it get the full job description?** No, it returns the teaser and selling points shown in SEEK's search results, which keeps runs fast and cheap. Open `jobUrl` for the full ad.

**Is this legal?** The Actor reads only public job listings that SEEK shows to any visitor, without logging in.
