## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Shopify & WooCommerce Products Scraper + Price Tracker

**Export the full product catalog of any Shopify or WooCommerce store** in seconds: prices, sale prices, % discount, stock, variants and SKUs, images, tags and categories. Turn on **change tracking** and schedule it, and every run tells you which products went **down or up in price, sold out, came back in stock, or are new**.

- ✅ **Two platforms, one schema.** Shopify (millions of stores) and WooCommerce (Store API). The platform is detected from the URL.
- ✅ **Fast and cheap.** It reads the public storefront JSON that the store serves to every visitor, with no browser and no proxy. About 250 products per request on Shopify.
- ✅ **Price and stock monitor built in.** `trackChanges` + `outputOnlyChanges`: you pay only for products that changed.
- ✅ **Filters:** keywords, exclude words, product type or category, vendor or brand, price range, in stock only, on sale only.
- ✅ **REST API** (Standby mode). Call it from your app, Google Sheets, Make, Zapier, n8n or an AI agent.
- ✅ **Polite by design.** It checks robots.txt, retries with backoff and never logs in or touches carts or checkout.

### Use cases

- **Competitor price monitoring** for e-commerce brands and resellers
- **Dropshipping and product research:** find best-sellers, new arrivals and discount patterns
- **Catalog migration or backup:** export your own store to CSV or Excel
- **Deal sites and affiliate feeds:** "on sale only" + schedule = fresh deals
- **Market research:** price ranges by brand, category or currency

### Input example

```json
{
  "storeUrls": ["allbirds.com", "https://colourpop.com", "porterandyork.com"],
  "onlyOnSale": true,
  "maxPrice": 100,
  "includeVariants": true,
  "trackChanges": true,
  "outputOnlyChanges": false
}
```

### Output (one item per product)

```json
{
  "platform": "shopify",
  "store": "https://colourpop.com",
  "storeName": "ColourPop",
  "productId": "7035012177987",
  "title": "Neutral Swipe",
  "url": "https://colourpop.com/products/neutral-swipe-shadow-stix-set",
  "vendor": "ColourPop",
  "productType": "Shadow Stix",
  "tags": ["..."],
  "price": 77.0,
  "priceMax": 77.0,
  "compareAtPrice": 90.0,
  "discountPct": 14.4,
  "onSale": true,
  "currency": "USD",
  "available": true,
  "variantsCount": 1,
  "imageUrl": "https://cdn.shopify.com/...",
  "changeType": "price_down",
  "previousPrice": 90.0,
  "priceChange": -13.0,
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-27T21:40:00+00:00"
}
```

`changeType` is one of `new`, `unchanged`, `price_down`, `price_up`, `out_of_stock` or `back_in_stock`. It appears only when change tracking is on. The snapshot is saved in your account in the named key-value store `shop-products-state`, one record per store list.

### API (Standby) example

```
GET https://<your-standby-url>/?storeUrls=allbirds.com&keywords=wool&onlyAvailable=true&maxItems=20
Authorization: Bearer <APIFY_TOKEN>
```

### Pricing

Pay per product returned. Set *Maximum cost per run* and the Actor stops cleanly at that budget.

### FAQ

**Does it work on every store?** On every Shopify store that keeps the standard `/products.json` storefront endpoint (almost all of them), and on WooCommerce stores where the Store API is enabled (the default since WooCommerce 6.x). Headless or custom stores, and stores that block it in robots.txt, are skipped and logged.

**Is it legal?** It reads public product information that the store publishes to every visitor, at a low request rate, and it respects robots.txt. It collects no personal data. You are responsible for how you use the data, for example with respect to trademarks and image copyright.

**Why is currency missing on WooCommerce?** It isn't. It comes from the Store API (`currency_code`). On Shopify it comes from the store's `/meta.json`.

**Issues or feature requests:** use the *Issues* tab.

# Actor input Schema

Keep products whose title, type, tags or categories contain any of these words.

## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Drop products whose title contains any of these words.
