## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## iStock & Getty Images Scraper — stock photo search and keyword research

**iStock & Getty Images Scraper** exports search results from **iStock** and **Getty Images**: titles, contributors, upload dates, collections, thumbnails and links. It adds a **keyword summary** built for stock contributors, showing how crowded a keyword is, how fresh the popular results are, and who dominates them.

### What can this Actor do?

- 🔍 **Search iStock and Getty Images** for any keyword: photos, illustrations and vectors, or videos.
- 🏆 **Sort by most popular, newest or best match**, to see what sells and what's new.
- 📊 **Keyword research summary** per search: total competing assets, the share of top results uploaded in the last 90 and 365 days, contributor concentration, and related searches.
- 📰 **Getty editorial** (news, sport, entertainment) as well as creative stock.
- 📁 **Up to 6,000 results per search**, exportable to CSV, Excel or JSON.

### What data can I get?

**Result rows** (`type: "asset"`): `title`, `caption`, `contributor`, `uploadDate`, `mediaType`, `collection`, `orientation`, `colors`, `editorialOnly`, `releaseCode`, `url`, `thumbnailUrl`, and more.

**Keyword summary rows** (`type: "keyword-summary"`):

| Field | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| `totalResults` | How many assets compete for the keyword |
| `shareUploadedLast90Days`, `shareUploadedLast365Days`, `medianAgeDays` | How fresh the top results are. With *Most popular*, a high share means new uploads can still rank |
| `distinctContributors`, `top5ContributorShare`, `topContributors` | Whether a few contributors dominate the keyword |
| `relatedSearches` | Related keywords suggested by the agency |

### How to use iStock & Getty Images Scraper

1. Click **Try for free** and sign in (new Apify accounts get free monthly credit).
2. Enter your **search queries**, e.g. `coffee shop`, `remote work`.
3. Choose **iStock**, **Getty Images** or both, and set **Sort by** to *Most popular* for keyword research.
4. Click **Start**, then open the **Output** tab to see the results and keyword summaries.

}
```
### How much does it cost?
You pay only for results: **$0.001 per result** ($1 per 1,000) and **$0.003 per keyword summary**. Proxies are included and there's no start fee. Turn off **Output individual assets** to research hundreds of keywords for a few cents.
### Tips and limits
- For keyword research, use **Most popular** with **120–300 results per query**.
- iStock and Getty don't publish download counts. Popularity comes from their own "most popular" ranking. For actual download numbers, see our Dreamstime Scraper below.
- Vectors are included under *Illustrations*.
Yes. You can start runs and fetch results through the [Apify API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2) or the official [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python) and [JavaScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js) clients, and send results to Google Sheets, Zapier, Make, n8n or a webhook.
#### Can I run it on a schedule?
Yes. In Apify Console, open **Schedules** to run it hourly, daily or weekly, and get the new data automatically.
