## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Shopify Catalog Consistency Checker

**Catch feed-vs-storefront drift before Google, Meta, or TikTok do.**

Your product feed says one thing, your live Shopify storefront says another — and the platforms notice before you do. Price mismatches and availability mismatches are the #1–2 causes of Google Merchant Center disapprovals; a disapproved product goes invisible on Shopping and your ads stop serving. This actor compares your live storefront against your product feed on every run and reports each drift with a fix hint, so you correct it before a crawler flags it.

### What it checks (per variant/SKU)

| Check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| **price_mismatch** (high) | Feed price ≠ storefront price — the top disapproval cause |
| **availability_mismatch** (high) | Feed says in-stock, storefront is sold out (or vice versa) |
| **feed_only** (medium) | Item in the feed but gone from the storefront — stale listing, disapproval risk |
| **storefront_only** (medium) | Live product missing from the feed — invisible to Shopping/ads |
| **title_mismatch** (low) | Feed title diverges sharply from the storefront title |
| **attribute_gap** (medium) | Feed item missing gtin/mpn identifiers, brand, or image |

### Inputs

- **Store URL** — e.g. `https://example.myshopify.com`. Read from the store's public storefront JSON. No login, no API keys.
- **Feed URL** — the public URL of your product feed (Google Merchant Center RSS XML or TSV), the same URL you submit to Google/Meta/TikTok. Auto-detected format.
- **Max variants per store** (default 500), **max charge cap** (default $5).

Feed items are matched to storefront variants by Shopify variant id (standard `shopify_{country}_{product}_{variant}` feed ids), then SKU, then GTIN/barcode, then title.

### Output

One dataset row per drift (`recordType: drift`) with severity, the storefront value vs the feed value, a plain-English explanation, and a fix hint — plus a per-run summary row. Schedule it daily and you get drift alerts before the platforms' crawlers find them.

### Pricing

Pay per event: run-started $0.001 · per variant checked $0.0002 · per drift detected $0.01. A 500-variant store with no drift costs about $0.10 per run.

### What it is not (yet)

Meta Catalog and TikTok Shop direct comparisons need merchant OAuth — planned for v0.2. This version covers any feed you can point at with a URL, which is exactly what Google/Meta/TikTok ingest.

# Actor input Schema

## `feedUrl` (type: `string`):

Public URL of the product feed to check (Google Merchant Center RSS XML or TSV). Usually the URL you submit to Google/Meta/TikTok — most feed apps host it publicly.

## `maxChargeUsd` (type: `number`):

Hard spending cap for this run. The actor stops cleanly before exceeding it; everything already processed is kept and charged normally.

## `maxProductsPerStore` (type: `integer`):

Storefront variants are read newest-first; stops here. Lower it to cap your per-run cost.

## `storeUrl` (type: `string`):

Shopify store URL (e.g. https://example.myshopify.com). Read from the store's public storefront JSON — no login, no API keys.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "maxChargeUsd": 5,
  "maxProductsPerStore": 500
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

Drift rows: one per detected feed-vs-storefront mismatch, plus a per-run summary row.

# API

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("dheerajitbhu/driftguard").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
# Prepare the Actor input
apify call dheerajitbhu/driftguard --silent --output-dataset
```

## MCP server setup

```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
The hosted server signs you in with OAuth on first connect, so no API token belongs in this config. Clients without OAuth support can send an `Authorization: Bearer <APIFY_API_TOKEN>` header instead, using a token from API & Integrations in Apify Console (https://console.apify.com/settings/integrations).
