## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## App Store Reviews: Multi-Country & Monitoring

Collect **Apple App Store reviews** for any iOS app: star rating, title, full text, app version, date and helpfulness votes, together with the app's overall rating and details. Get reviews from **one country or 50+ countries in a single run**, filter them by stars, keywords and date, and **monitor new reviews** on a schedule.

Data comes from Apple's **official public customer reviews feed** and the iTunes Search API. No login, no browser, very fast and cheap.

### Features

- **Any app input**: App Store link, app id or just the **app name** (e.g. `Spotify`).
- **Many countries**: pick countries or turn on **All major countries** (50+ markets). Apple shows up to 500 latest reviews per country, so more countries means many more reviews.
- **Filters**: min and max stars (e.g. 1–2 stars = complaints only), keywords (crash, price, login…), reviews since a date or period (`7 days`).
- **Monitoring**: *Only new reviews* returns just the reviews you have not seen yet. Schedule daily and connect Slack, e-mail, Google Sheets or Zapier.
- **App details in every row**: app name, developer, average rating, rating count, current version, genre, price.
- **Privacy-friendly**: reviewer nicknames are off by default and can be turned on.

### Output

```json
{
  "appId": "950278657",
  "appName": "Seznam.cz",
  "developer": "Seznam.cz a.s.",
  "appRating": 4.63,
  "appRatingCount": 28394,
  "appCurrentVersion": "19.1.1",
  "country": "cz",
  "reviewId": "14588495870",
  "rating": 1,
  "title": "Email",
  "text": "Could you add a 'Select all' option to the iOS mail app?",
  "appVersion": "19.1.0",
  "date": "2026-09-24T16:49:44.000Z",
  "voteSum": 0,
  "voteCount": 0
}
```

### Use cases

- **Product teams**: find bugs and feature requests after every release (filter by app version and 1–2 stars).
- **Competitor research**: compare what users love and hate about competing apps across countries.
- **Customer support and ASO**: get new reviews daily and react quickly.
- **AI analysis**: feed reviews into ChatGPT or Claude for sentiment and topic summaries.

### Limits

- Apple's feed provides up to **500 most recent reviews per app per country** (10 pages of 50). Use more countries for more reviews.
- Ratings without a written review are not included in the feed, but the app's overall rating and count are.

### Questions or ideas?

Open an issue on the **Issues** tab. Feature requests are welcome.

### How to use it via API

You can run the Actor from the Apify Console, on a schedule, or from your own code. Get your API token in Apify Console → Settings → Integrations.

**Python**

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("<YOUR_API_TOKEN>")
run = client.actor("digitalni.produkty.pro.zivot/app-store-reviews").call(run_input={
    "apps": [
        "Spotify"
    ],
    "countries": [
        "us",
        "gb"
    ]
})
for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(item)
```

**JavaScript / Node.js**

```js
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' });
const run = await client.actor('digitalni.produkty.pro.zivot/app-store-reviews').call({
    "apps": [
        "Spotify"
    ],
    "countries": [
        "us",
        "gb"
    ]
});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
console.log(items);
```

### Integrations and AI agents

- Export results as **JSON, CSV, Excel, XML or HTML**, or open them directly in **Google Sheets**.
- Connect to **Make, Zapier, n8n, Slack, Google Drive, Airbyte** or any **webhook** to get Apple App Store reviews into your workflow automatically.
- Use it from **AI agents and LLM apps** (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, LangChain…) through the **Apify MCP server**: the agent can call this Actor as a tool.
- **Schedule** runs (hourly, daily, weekly) to keep data fresh without any code.

### FAQ

**How much does it cost?**
$0.15 per 1,000 reviews. 10,000 reviews cost $1.50.

**How many reviews can I get?**
Apple exposes up to about 500 most recent reviews per app and country, so running many countries in one go gives you far more data.

**Can I monitor new reviews?**
Yes. Schedule the Actor with monitoring on and get only new reviews, e.g. to alert your support team about 1-star reviews.

One per line: App Store link (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/instagram/id389801252), app id (389801252) or simply the app name (Spotify), which is looked up in the App Store search.

## `countries` (type: `array`):

Two-letter App Store country codes, e.g. us, gb, de, fr, cz. Apple shows up to 500 latest reviews per country, so more countries = more reviews.

Ignore the list above and collect reviews from 50+ of the biggest App Store markets.

## `sort` (type: `string`):

Order in which Apple returns reviews.

## `maxReviewsPerApp` (type: `integer`):

Total limit across all countries.

## `minRating` (type: `integer`):

Keep only reviews with at least this many stars (1–5). 0 = no limit.

Keep only reviews with at most this many stars, e.g. 2 for complaints only. 0 = no limit.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Keep only reviews whose title or text contains one of these words, e.g. crash, price, login.

## `since` (type: `string`):

Only reviews newer than this: a date (2026-09-01) or a period (7 days, 2 weeks, 3 months).

## `includeAuthor` (type: `boolean`):

Add the reviewer's public App Store nickname and profile link. Off by default for privacy.

## `onlyNewReviews` (type: `boolean`):

Return only reviews not returned by earlier runs with the same monitor name. Schedule daily for a feed of new reviews.

## `monitorName` (type: `string`):

Separate name for each monitored set of apps.
