## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## PageSpeed & Lighthouse Audit: Bulk Core Web Vitals

Audit the speed and quality of any number of websites with **Google Lighthouse**, the same engine behind PageSpeed Insights. You get performance, SEO, accessibility and best-practices scores, **Core Web Vitals**, the biggest speed fixes and a list of SEO and accessibility problems for every page, on **mobile, desktop or both**.

**No Google API key and no quotas.** Lighthouse runs inside the Actor. You pay only for completed audits. Pages that fail to load are never charged.

### What you get for each page

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `performanceScore`, `seoScore`, `accessibilityScore`, `bestPracticesScore` | 0–100 Lighthouse scores |
| `performanceRating` | good (90+), needs-improvement (50–89), poor (<50) |
| `lcpMs`, `fcpMs`, `tbtMs`, `cls`, `speedIndexMs`, `ttfbMs` | Core Web Vitals and other lab metrics |
| `ratings` | good / needs-improvement / poor for every metric by Google's thresholds |
| `pageWeightKb`, `requests` | how heavy the page is |
| `opportunities` | the biggest speed fixes with estimated savings in ms and KB |
| `seoIssues`, `accessibilityIssues`, `bestPracticesIssues` | failed checks in plain words |
| `reportUrl` | full Lighthouse HTML report (optional) |

#### Example (shortened)

```json
{
  "url": "https://www.idnes.cz/",
  "strategy": "mobile",
  "performanceScore": 39,
  "seoScore": 85,
  "lcpMs": 4755,
  "cls": 0,
  "tbtMs": 1340,
  "ratings": { "lcpMs": "poor", "cls": "good", "tbtMs": "poor" },
  "pageWeightKb": 4979,
  "opportunities": [
    { "id": "render-blocking-resources", "title": "Eliminate render-blocking resources", "savingsMs": 1481, "savingsKb": 0 },
    { "id": "unused-css-rules", "title": "Reduce unused CSS", "savingsMs": 320, "savingsKb": 69 }
  ],
  "seoIssues": ["Links are not crawlable", "Image elements do not have `[alt]` attributes"]
}
```

### Use cases

- **SEO agencies**: audit all client sites or a competitor list in one run and put the scores into reports.
- **E-shops**: monitor product and category pages every week (Core Web Vitals affect Google rankings and conversions).
- **Lead generation**: find websites with poor speed scores and offer them your services.
- **Developers**: check performance after every release with a scheduled run or via API.

### How to use

1. Add URLs (one per line).
2. Choose **Mobile**, **Desktop** or **Mobile + desktop**.
3. Run and export as JSON, CSV or Excel, or connect via API, Zapier, Make or n8n.

### Notes

- Audits run one after another so that measurements are not distorted, so expect roughly 20–60 seconds per audit.
- Lab scores vary a little from run to run, as with PageSpeed Insights.
- Only audit websites you are allowed to test. Pages behind a login are not supported.

### Questions or ideas?

Open an issue on the **Issues** tab. Feature requests are welcome.

### How to use it via API

You can run the Actor from the Apify Console, on a schedule, or from your own code. Get your API token in Apify Console → Settings → Integrations.

**Python**

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("<YOUR_API_TOKEN>")
run = client.actor("digitalni.produkty.pro.zivot/pagespeed-audit").call(run_input={
    "urls": [
        "https://apify.com",
        "https://example.com"
    ]
})
for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(item)
```

**JavaScript / Node.js**

```js
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' });
const run = await client.actor('digitalni.produkty.pro.zivot/pagespeed-audit').call({
    "urls": [
        "https://apify.com",
        "https://example.com"
    ]
});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
console.log(items);
```

### Integrations and AI agents

- Export results as **JSON, CSV, Excel, XML or HTML**, or open them directly in **Google Sheets**.
- Connect to **Make, Zapier, n8n, Slack, Google Drive, Airbyte** or any **webhook** to get Lighthouse / PageSpeed audits for a list of websites into your workflow automatically.
- Use it from **AI agents and LLM apps** (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, LangChain…) through the **Apify MCP server**: the agent can call this Actor as a tool.
- **Schedule** runs (hourly, daily, weekly) to keep data fresh without any code.

### FAQ

**How much does it cost?**
$0.025 per audited URL and device. Auditing 40 client sites on mobile costs $1.

**Do I need a Google PageSpeed API key?**
No. Lighthouse runs inside the Actor, so there are no API keys or quotas.

**Can I track Core Web Vitals over time?**
Yes. Schedule the Actor weekly and send results to Google Sheets or your dashboard to see trends in LCP, CLS and TBT.
